I have a 1999 Seaswirl 18ft ski boat that I "inherited" last spring. It's been sitting in an open boat storage all summer and I know it needs some maintenance before I can take it out on the lake, but am not quite sure what that would be. I don't want to go out and take it to a Marine place without knowing what needs to happen considering that I'm a woman and they will try to get as much service out of me as possible, even if it's not necessary. I live in Texas....that may help you avid boaters give me a better understanding of what needs to happen.

Thanks bunches!

I just replaced my Tecumseh starter on my 1993 Craftsman lawnmower. 12hp. The starter spins when I hook a jumper pack to it but not through the battery. I assume the battery is dead. However shouldn't I be able to start the mower by jumping the starter? When I jump it the starter doesn't hit the fly wheel. Why? What can I do to fix it? Could it be my jumper pack is just not strong enough? Its 12v 6amp. Please tell me this is a simple inexpensive fix. thanks

The rear brake line busted on a 2000 Blazer and the valve that shuts the brake fluid shut to keep the rest of the fluid from coming out. How do you reset the valve to open it up again?

I have checked all of the fuses and they are all good to go. The warning lights at the top of the panel still light up and my brake lamp light even came on when a brake light went out. Sometimes the clock in the middle of the dash comes on and sometimes it doesn't. Also, sometimes the light around what gear I am in lights up and sometimes it doesn't. At night I can't see my speed limit, temperature, RPMs because it's completely dark. I am thinking it may be the Instrument Panel Dimmer Switch or there is another part that is encased in a panel underneath the steering wheel and I'm not sure what that one is called. I don't think it would be the bulbs going out all at once... anyone have any ideas?

I'm trying to drain all the water out of the system I put in my truck because it was leaking coolant due to an intake gasket being blown. I didn't know the gasket was blown at the time and putting more anti-freeze was getting expensive, so I went to just adding water. I've drained the radiator petcock but I know there's still water in the block. So I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the petcock is located or perhaps another way to drain the water from the block?

I recently had the belts changed in my car. About a week later I am getting a loud scretching sound on startup for about 2-3 seconds and it goes away, sometimes it comes back briefly within the first 5 minutes of driving but goes away within a few seconds. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Often in questions about "stiffening" caps, the answers include recommendations that warning signs are posted whenever an audio system includes a capacitor. I don't understand why capacitors are thought to be more dangerous than batteries. Even lawsuit-wary car manufacturers don't post warning notices about battery voltage, because the voltage levels in a standard automotive battery aren't considered to be dangerous to humans. A capacitor can't reach a higher charge than the electrical system it's connected to, and it doesn't store nearly as much power as a battery. So why is a capacitor in a car audio system considered dangerous?

Why is it that a gallon of gasoline at one Speedway is 2.24 per gallon and 8 miles up the road at another Speedway, the same gallon of gasoline is 2.13 per gallon. I never could understand this. Both stations are owned by the same company. Isn't this called price fixing or gouging??

i bought a 1999 expedition back around dec 06. only problem it had was on occasion the windshield wipers would go a couple times out of no where. now they seem to have a mind of thier own and always come on. they come on alot more and alot more often. but they still work properly when u actually do turn them on even the delay. and yes i have made sure they were all the way off and it still does it. actually one other thing also. my back passenger side door wont lock and unlock by the l/u button but if i use my remote it will unlock but not lock. and then when i do ever open that door then my door ajr light comes on for some reason and stays on whiole i am driving. i muct have some electrical problems but what could cause this and is there any cheap way to fix it?

I have a problem with my car. New battery and new alternator just 3 months ago. When I am driving the battery light comes on when I have my foot on the gas and go above a certain rpm, goes back off at idle. Had bat and alt check and both are fine. New alt belt. Monro tested and reved engine, alternator ok at idle but drops like 4 volts with load. Any suggestions since the battery and alternator both new have less than 1000 miles on them. Monro suggested I might want to see an electrician because he thinks voltage is being dropped somewhere. Can someone help me? My car is a 1999 Mercury Cougar.

Ihave a 1994 olds delta 88 3.8 engine notsingle coil pack a whole coil pack. The car just stop runnig on me while i was driving. After counteless times trying to get the car started, I had to get the car towed home. The next day I started the car up and it ran as usually, but when I went into the store and came back the car didn't want to start. After a few minutes of trying to start the car, It finally started up. Some one told me that my module was going bad, so I took it off and had it tested at auto zone and they said it was good. I put the module back on and I noticed that when I tried to start the car up, when I turned the key forward the lighst didn't come on , such as the check engine light, oil light, battery light . Now the car just turn and won't start up at all. what could possibly be the problem.
