I recently had the belts changed in my car. About a week later I am getting a loud scretching sound on startup for about 2-3 seconds and it goes away, sometimes it comes back briefly within the first 5 minutes of driving but goes away within a few seconds. Any ideas how I can fix this?

you could try retentioning the belts, if the noise persists there are products that you spray on the belts to stop the squeaking.Itts even possible that you've got the wrong profile belts on, check that the belts shape propperly fit the shape of the pulleys.

you have a belt slipping. It is very common after you have had your belts replaced to have them stretch in the first couple of weeks which will cause them to slip. Take it back to where you had the belts put on and they can tighten them in a few seconds and probably will not charge you anything.

sounds like its the belts, this is not uncommon... go to the parts store and get some 'belt dressing' and it should silence this.

while you are at it check the tension of the belts...using your thunb, push down inbetween 2 pulleys and see how much play the belt has, it should be less than 1 inch (ofcourse this depends on how far apart the pulleys are adn hoe tough you are...)
