Im looking to buy a used honda civic and most of the ones I can afford have a salvage title. They were either because of theft or because they were in an accident. They are fixed now but is it a good idea to buy them anyway with a salvage title?

I am planning to buy an unregistered motorcycle tomorrow from a private party in California.

The seller says it was not registered because he planned to use it on closed racetracks only, but I'm not sure that is legit.

Does anyone know what extra steps are required to buy an unregistered vehicle, or if that is even a good idea?

I got a loan from a used car dealership and have been making $431 monthly payments (w/ a 13-15% interest rate) for about a year now on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring.

Walked out the door at about $14K+, I'm tired of the car and want to trade it in via another car dealer for something better like a Mazda 6 that might run around $15-16K+... but not sure if it's too early to even try??

What type of time frame should I be safe to try this i... or is it based on how much you have paid so far?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. =] - Thanks in advance.

My car was parked on the said eof the curb while i was visiting a family member. We all heard a loud crash and ran outside and some dumb guy had ran off the road and ran right into the back of my parked car. His car was totaled and he hit my car so hard that it moved up a whole cars length and more of where it was parked. The guy first tried to start his car to run bit it wouldn't start so he got out and ran leaving the car there. The police came and did not catch the driver but they got the owners information and insurance and gave it to me.The people that own the car are saying their car was stolen. will the owners car incurance pay for my cars damage? The owners did not report their car stolen untill after the accident and the ingnition was not punctured or anything is there any way I can get their insurance company to fix my car?

I recently hit a pole/column in a parking garage driving my Scion tC. I have gotten estimates around $1600 to replace a fender, the front bumper, and one of the headlights. I am wondering if it is a good idea to fix it myself (with the guidance of a friend who has mechanical knowledge)? According to the collision centers, my headlight should be replaced because the plastic tabs have been broken where the screws attach underneath the hood. But the light still works and only has minor scratches on the side, and I cannot see a reason why it is necessary to get it fixed right now. Should I purchase the parts myself , do the work myself, and just pay to have it painted??? Do I need to replace the light?

Hi, I was working on my motorcycle when I broke a bolt off inside a stud on my bike frame. I went to the hardware store and purchased a screw extractor and a small drill bit. To make a long story short the small bit broke inside the bolt. The question of the day now is how do i still get the bolt out with the drill bit stuck inside of it? Any ideas?

I was driving down the highway last week and my car just turned off. First the radio went off, then the speedometer went to 0 and finally the car just completely shut off. I got the car towed to a shop. They said it was the alternator and alternator cable and replaced it. I picked my car up and it died again 15 minutes after driving. Took my car back to the shop and they hooked the battery up to a tester with the car running. The battery continued to lose power right in front of us. The battery is less than 6 months old. The mechanics have no idea what the problem is.

I have a 1996 Toyota Celica GT 2.2L and I want to upgrade this sucker so I can put up a decent fight even if I lose. I'm having a hard time finding nice looking body parts because everywhere I look, it's the same stuff. I don't have much money to be putting into this, but I will soon enough. Anyone with this exact car plus or minus a couple years, please give as much information as possible as I am a newbie at working on cars. Thanks!!!

I would like to start educating myself about motorcycles with the intent of purchasing a "beginner" bike to learn on before getting into something a little more substantial. I don't have much background in motorcycle or access to those who do so maybe somebody could offer some advice as to what I should be thinking about and the differences between a sport bike vs. a classic bike and how a beginner should approach this. Thanks.

I checked the wires at the starter and distributor coil and there are 12volts when the key is in the on position. I dont know what's next to try besides ignition switch.
