well i basically got a ticket for going 80mph on 65mph zone... and my court date is tomorrow.

i live in california, near the bay area, so all i wanted to know was how much will the fine be and how much is it to go to traffic school? and my insurance rates wont raise as long as i take the class right?

also, is there anything i should know about before going to court? (this is my first time going to court & i already made a decision to plead guilty)

thanks all...

It's beautiful, we are asking slightly less than blue book, but no bites. Even the rare bite we do get either flakes or cancels. Is it that private party sales have a "price cap" or is it the gas prices- or is it just bad luck? We've been trying since 11/06 & the price is $9500.

My wife's 2001 Audi A4 Quattro's brakes just started to grind. I have a friend who can easily replace the brake pads. My question is, how do I know if the rotars also need replacing??? What do I look for on the rotars? Is it a measurement???

My 2002 Jeep Wrangler X, with 60K miles, stalls at an idle when I stop at a light. It also idles rough. The engine just dies, and no lights come on. Unlike when I anciently “pop” the clutch, the engine will die, but the warning lights come on.

It starts up perfectly. In fact the problem goes away if I am running the AC.

It has penty of power. Everything seems normal.

I cleaned my aftermarket air-filter, but that didn’t help. I guess I should change the spark plugs. Perhaps a tune-up is in order.

I wanted to see if it was something simple before I take it to the dealer. There is a $100 deductible on the warrantee.

ok my car (1996 ford taurus gl sedan, 3.0 v6) is cranking but not starting. it is getting fuel (as i sprayed either into the air intake thing while cranking), the battery is 100% charged, and the spark plugs are not getting sparks. i changed my coil pack, and my spark plugs and they still arent getting a spark. i just bought a crankshaft positioning sensor and just want to make sure before i try to put it on that there is a possibility thats what it is. honestly i think thats exactly what it is but i want some opinions.

i have an electric scooter with sla batteries at 36v with 9AH, i can't afford all 4 of the li-poly batteries needed to run the scooter, but i can afford 1 12v, and i was wondering if i can run that in parallel with the sla batteries just harnessing the AH, without the same voltage.

So my Mom drove my car to work today to see if it was 'working good'. I told her to watch the temp! (I've been leaking coolant probably do to a whose that I negleted to tighten....stupid!) Anyways there was some fresh coolant in the trunk.....but she said it started clunking....so she drives it home like a race horse!!! So I tried to cycle it with cold water.....it still rattled! I think a rod may be shot......but is there anything else that it could be???!

I drive a manual transmission vehicle. I have a tendancy to put the vehicle in nuetral whenever I see a big slope, for no specific reason. I will put the car in top gear at the bottom of slope. I am worried if this habbit of mine will damage the vehicle or that is just normal and lot of drivers out there do the same.

It is on a 96 ford aspire. I have checked the battery and it is ok. The Alternator is new and checks out fine. In fact, I have gone through about 5 alternators in the last year, thinking it was the alternators. What other problems might I have that would cause the Alternators to not charge?
Thanks for any help you can give.

My uncle is trying to get rid of a 1970 SS396 El Camino and he'll give it to me for $1,500. It is sitting in my grandma' garage completely disassembled. I would like to buy it and put it together in my garage, but I've never done anything like this. I'm a smart guy and I'm pretty handy, but I'm worried that I'll get it in my garage and not be able to do what needs to be done to get this car together. Is this something that an average guy can do with a lot of time and patience or should I spare myself the trouble? Any advise would be much appreciated.

I recently rebuilt my chevy 305 tbi in my silverado. I made the mistake of not marking the distributor before i pulled it and now i don't know how it should be put back in. I know i have to have the 1st cylinder at tdc (atleast that's what i've been told) but i can't seem to find any markings on the distributor or the intake manifold to help me reinstall it. Also, I realize I'm going to need to use a timing light to get it adjusted right, but doesn't the engine have to be somewhat running to do this? Last question: In the very likely event that I can't get the distributor in right and it's a lost cause, do you know what it will cost (roundabout #) to have this done for me? Any help would be great. The more details the better!

brakes worked fine before (fine as in you slam them, you will be sent forward) then master cylinder went out of it. put a new one on it, bench bled it, bled the lines, all done right, got it down the road, you have to major pump them to slow down and stopped the pedal is actually touching the floor but it does keep it stopped. we didnt do the back brakes, coudl this be causing it?

I was thinking.......
This fall, my girlfriend is going to be out of town for a week or so, and I have some time off work.
I was thinking it might be cool just pick up a freight train and ride it....wherever, for a few days, then go back home.
I would probably need some warmer clothes, a sleeping bag, some food, power bars, camp stove, money, backpacking guitar, etc.....what else?
Are there gangs around freight yards, and would I need a gun?
Where is a good freight yard not far from NYC?
Any tips from someone who has done this before?
How do we know which trains are going where?
Any interesting stories?

I know this sounds like a stupidass, over-romanticized, fantasy, and maybe it is, but it would be wicked cool if I could get it to work.

Of course, depending on where I end up, I might just end up flying, taking the bus or Amtrak back home, but that's ok!

Yeah, I know it is dangerous, and it is illegal (tresspassing etc), so save the sermons.
