well i basically got a ticket for going 80mph on 65mph zone... and my court date is tomorrow.

i live in california, near the bay area, so all i wanted to know was how much will the fine be and how much is it to go to traffic school? and my insurance rates wont raise as long as i take the class right?

also, is there anything i should know about before going to court? (this is my first time going to court & i already made a decision to plead guilty)

thanks all...

Admit that you were speeding and apologize. Dress nicely for court. Traffic school should set you back about $150 - that's a bargain compared to the ticket price and insurance hike.

Dress nicely, don't look like a punk, tell the judge you made a mistake your sorry and would like to take the class to improve your driving your skills.

You'll have to pay for the court costs and the school. A couple of hundred bucks at least. If you had a lawyer, and there will be some at the courthouse trying to drum up business, you can't miss them, ask them about what you need to do to get traffic school. good luck

I don't understand why you're going to court unless there is more to it than a speeding ticket. After you get a ticket they mail you the cost of the ticket and the cost to go to traffic school if you're eligible. If you mail the fine to the court that admits your guilt and you do not have to appear. The only reason to go to court is to plead not guilty.
And yes, if you go to traffic school your insurance co will not see the ticket.

Throw out a price ticket simply on account that the cope with is incorrect? Nah.. There were occasions while a price ticket has been thrown out on account that the wrong offense used to be marked or whatever of that nature, however no longer an cope with. Think approximately this: I only recently moved into a brand new dwelling, however my motive force's license nonetheless has the historical cope with. Therefore, technically if I get pulled over, the officer could write down the cope with on my license and it could be incorrect. Not adequate purpose to throw it out. Good success to ya!!!
