No specific criteria from me this week, just want to see how people answer this question.

Ladies and gentlemen, please keep it relevant to the topic!

I am not having a pop at anyone in particular (for a change!). Just want to get some feedback.

Enjoy.

My Son took his 2001 Mustang to Ford recently because it was making a clicking noise in the engine. . They tore it apart and told him the engine was shot and they would fix it for about $4000. He decided to do it himself. So rather than put the car back together Ford left it in pieces. They kept his bolts, and several other parts. He drove it in running, and had to have it towed home. He is now trying to put it together without the parts ford kept. There was no service contract written up when my son left the car He has been all over town looking for parts to put his car back together. Ford has not billed him yet but they expect payment of $114.00 for labor. What should we do?

My question is not a joke.
How do you overtake a horse?.....Pass slow and wide with minimal noise and disturbance for the horse. This is the realistic answer, correct? Drivers have respect for the horses and riders because the horse may spook and cause and accident, correct?

So, the point of the question is now as follows.....

Why dont people treat learners with the same amount of respect and courtesy? If a learner driver gets spooked are they not a danger? Could they not steer erratically or brake to stop suddenly and unpredictably, thus causing a crash? It is impossible to stop a learner from braking harshly in a situation of panic!

So, why do people allow themselves to antagonise and intimidate the learners? Why drive so close? Why overtake dangerously? Why sound the horn if they stall?

You wouldn't to a horse would you? Or would you? Think about it.

(I am NOT having a dig at horse riders at all, just painting a picture and creating a scenario)

I currently drive a RenaultSport megane 225. It's 2 years old and has has a few problems since i've owned it but it's not been a too bad car.... (Well, it is french though). I love the performance and that's one of the things I don't want to loose when I get a new car.

The problem is I probably owe about 3/4 grand on it. What should I do? Wait another year and get rid, hoping that the finance evens itself up? Or, sell now and owe money that I don't have. If anyone has suggestions of what I could do then please let me know. Thanks.

hi, I know that you can keep a un-tax car on a private road or land as long as you want as long as you declare the car as off the road, but what I’m unsure about is a un-tax car on a public road or street how long can you keep it there, If you have declared it off the road.

I read something on this site about a 15 day cooling off period to get the car road worthy.

the help would be appreciated thank you :-)

choose two answers. 1st real life, 2nd if money were no object:
A. Get a newer or better one - maintain appearance, status symbol.
B. Get better comfort, performance, or features - desire to upgrade.
C. Yours will quit working or become more expensive to maintain than a newer one - necessity.

While I understand what Restored, Salvage, and Clear is... I'm wondering (very naive about Automotive titles..), is it possible to repair and change a vehicle from salvage (say...minor accident) to Clear, and not restored? If possible, what steps must you take to have that done? I can't find answers anywhere else.

I'm working on getting a kawasaki 440 ltd running but so far no luck. I've got it in neutral, fuel in the tank, starting fluid in the carbs, choke open... but nothing.

I've managed to get it started once but as soon as I let off the starter button it died...

Any suggestions as to how to get it started and kept started?

I had a battery failure on my Mazda 3. My car is less that two years old and the battery Warranty is 36 months (Printed in the Handbook). At the dealership, I asked for a replacement under Warranty, refused. The General Manager said that the new cars in his showroom, all fitted with a battery, did not have a Warranty and that he could not obtain a replacement from Mazda in the event of failure.
Need I explain the stupidity of that statement?

I did get a new battery from them, after eight attempts with documentary evidence of battery failure from attempt 1.

My car is now (as I write) being serviced at a private garage for £75.00 compared with £165 at the local Mazda dealership - with all replacements needed from Mazda UK.
I did make a Case to Mazda UK who, in their final letter to me said "We understand that you now have a new battery supplied free of charge. We hope this will give you confidence in the Dealership and continue to use their services"
What do you think?

Reported to Shell and they admitted that water was found in the specific pump. There is a fuel contamination issue. I could not start my car and had been towed for repair. If my car cannot have the same quality and performance after the repair, what can I do?

I have a 98 Civic EX. This morning when I was leaving my house I noticed a click when I turned the steering wheel. The click happened whenever I turned the wheel. Just one click, when the turn was starting, on every turn. The sound is definately coming from the steering wheel or just behind it, it's not the CV joints.

Is this something I should be worried about or is it normal? It was a really cold morning so at first I thought that might be the problem, but it kept recurring during my 20 minute drive to work.......

New to trucks, going to buy a 2007 Ford F-150 or 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500, Ford would have the Triton 5.4L V8, Chevy Vortex(sp?) 6.0L, I want 4x4 also limited slip. The Ford would be the XLT model. Chevy LT2 equiped.

Anyway, I don't know much about how these engines compare, mstly looking for reliability and longevity. How long they last? When and what usually becomes a problem?

Does one of these truck tend to fall apart after the warranty?

I can get both truck similarly equiped for about the same price, I like the looks and ride of both. So I am having a hard time deciding.

Which is more truck for my money?

Also when they ask for $3000 in rebate or 0% over 5 years which is better? I think interest rate would be 6.9% if I take rebate.

Thanks
