my mechanic charged me for 20 hours on a head casket job is this possible

I would call another garage to look the labor hour charge through the online service of AllData. You may be able to get this info at Auto Zone parts store too.

Depends on the motor and what's in the way.
4cyl - 20 hours is a rip off
V8 - both sides - maybe about right
They always over estimate to account for any delays

Simple question, simple answer. How high is the sky. Is it a 20 ton highway tractor or a half ton. If you want honest and truthful answers we have to have the proper information like the year, make and model. Has it got A/C etc. etc. It is known as a gasket, not casket ???? You tell us we can tell you. Thanks

Yes its possible!What kind of truck?Diesel or gas.Please be assured that there are some shady shops out there,but a dealer has good ,honest techs.We are not all out to rob you,but help you.Also what size engine?

Pending the type and year,( tell us this), the older the truck is the faster it will be done, 20 hrs is alot of time, i think you got pooched,

depends on the year, they have to remove alot of stuff, ( and put it back on )I would say that is about right,
they usually go by a national book set up for estimates, call around,

it all depends on how many times you interrupt with questions and whisdoms, depends on what needs to get disconnected and removed, so he can get at it and remove it, and the time period from start to finish time.
