I need to make a submarine for my science class to float for 3 seconds, sink 17 inches, touch the bottom of the aquarium and make it come back up. Right now, I have a small powerade bottle that has holes in it. It sinks, touches the bottom, but I cant get it to come back up and I really need someones help!!!!! Plz help me!!!! It is due today!!!!

dear sir
to do this you only need, 1 toy balloon and a Peace of soft vinyl tubing,and some Superglue.
1st you need to have this tubing
about 6 to 7 feet long,so it reaches to your sub, place one drop of glue on to one end of the tub. quickly place balloon over tubing and tie it around balloons opening and glued tubing to mack a tight seal , tie the thread tightly around it 3,or 4 times.
now place your balloon and tubing into bottle,so the balloon is inside of the bottle , you can use some duck tap, or other to help hold the balloon in place, now you want your bottle to have holes in it to let water in ,as the balloon deflates, to inflate balloon just blow into tubing and it fill up with air, thus displacing the water with in the bottle,and it rises

No need to get fancy. How about a few alka selzer tabs glued to the upper inside surface of the bottle?
