I damaged my car this morning, it is a Nissan Altima 2003. I backed up into one of those concrete rings they put at gas stations so you won't hit the gas pump. I scraped and bent inwards about a foot and a half long and a foot wide bending in the metal. What should I do and how much would this cost to repair? It looks really bad. The damage is all on the side (drivers side. )

My "hot" button ( for my engine ) came on. I was going up a moderate grade hill range when it happened. What do i do? I had it in drive, would it have been better to go to a higher gear or would that make it worse, or does it not matter. when that light comes on what should i do? if driving uphill on a freeway ( so i was going 65 ) makes it come, are there any other driving conditions which might, like say driving through the desert? PLEASE HELP ^-^ any extra info you want to through in thats related is a BIG PLUS

i appreciate all the advice ive been getting lately on my car. I am about to take it to my local service station in an hour to have this problem checked up on, but maybe someone else has had this same issue.

My cars acceleration (especially from stop to go) seems very jerky. It will surge then stop then surge then stop ,etc. It is a turbo so I'm not sure what to deduce from that fact. But anyway, it seems to happen the worst the colder it is. I hardly noticed it but for a few seconds earlier in the week when it was around 50 F, but the last few days its been a high of about 12F and I noticed it when I left work yesterday - it was pretty bad.
If I have drive nthe car for a while, turn it off, then restart it shortly, the problem isnt there (or if it is it is so slight I can barely notice it).

Does this seem like a transmission problem... or fuel filter clogged? Any ideas?

Thanks

o- sorry the car is mercedes 350SDL turbo diesel

I want someone to tell me, on the driving test, do you literally have to use the handbrake every single time you stop, even if your only stopping for 2 seconds on a level surface. I know obviously if your on a hill you use it, but im not 100 percent if im to put it on if i only stop for 2 secs to let a car pass or something, am I to literally always put it on whenever I stop or just use clutch and footbrake?

Hello there,

I ve got a Vauxhall Astra 1997 mk3 expression, and it has a little red LED on the panel, top rleft hand side of the heater temperture knob, and below the stereo.

sometimes it is on (but very dim) even i start my engine or turn the key to on, but more often it isnt.

any idea of what is it? (not the immobiliser i think)

cheers.

the pedal goes half way down before i start to brake. the front chamber of my reservoir is empty, which i know means i have a leak and therefore i have no brakes working. but i still do brake which means that either front or back brakes is not working. i believe the back went out because the front chamber (also the smaller of the two chambers in the reservoir) is empty. can anyone tell me if im right or wrong on this?

this is my friends car, its a 97 nissan maxima GLE.

here is what he said:

what happens is when i turn the key i can here the car try to start...BUT the rpm gauge doesnt do anything, it stays at 0. after a while of trying again and again the rpm gauge will jump up like it normally does and the car starts...BUT it sounds like its running rough and having a hard time running for about 5 seconds then runs fine. no problems once the car is running.

The car has been sitting for about 2 weeks in pretty cold weather...would this have anything to do with it? and I replaced the starter and battery last month....the starter died on me. the replacement starter was reconditioned but it sounds like its working fine..

here are the codes he pulled:
0304: Knock Sensor
0707: Rear O2 Sensor
1008: EVAP Canister purge control valve

none should have anythin to do with a starting problem though...so i dont get it?

what do you guys think? someone suggested it was the CKP sensor...but idk?
