I have a 98 Civic EX. This morning when I was leaving my house I noticed a click when I turned the steering wheel. The click happened whenever I turned the wheel. Just one click, when the turn was starting, on every turn. The sound is definately coming from the steering wheel or just behind it, it's not the CV joints.

Is this something I should be worried about or is it normal? It was a really cold morning so at first I thought that might be the problem, but it kept recurring during my 20 minute drive to work.......

The first thing that comes to mind would be the turn sinnal canceling lever, it's plastic and may be a bit off. Unless it starts to click where you feel it and it binds the wheel, I hear them all the time. can also be that jujubee you lost in there last year...

I wouldn't lose sleep over it

If you are sure that your turn signal switch isn't the problem, then have a mechanic check the universal joint in the steering column. These u-joints have to be in there for the tilt-steering wheel to work. Also, if you have a telescoping wheel, it is possible that the sliding coupling in the column isn't lubed properly.

the only clicking would come from the cv shaft have them check if you have any cv boots that are torn that will give you a start if not check your rack and pinion

theres a bearing in the steering.it might be dry.take off the horn pad and put some wd40 around the bearing, and see if that fixes it.
