Car has less than 30K miles, original tires (not abused) and babied. When turning left you get a clicking/clunking sometimes. Bought the extended warranty (up soon) and taken it in twice. Once they changed the oil then they changed a bearing (they said) but it's still the same. Is this a 10-bolt? What could it need? Warranty up soon - thinking of demanding it be fixed. Don't know if I can demand a new rear end. I have only peeled out a couple of times with the car and don't abuse it. Thanks. (Convertible - don't know if that means different ratio because heavy car)

Americans Drive Less for First Time in 25 Years

By Bruce Nichols, Reuters

HOUSTON (Nov. 30) - High gasoline prices not only slowed fuel demand growth and cut sales of gas-guzzling vehicles in 2005, they also prompted Americans to drive less for the first time in 25 years, a consulting group said in a report Thursday.

The drop in driving was small -- the average American drove 13,657 miles per year in 2005, down from 13,711 miles in 2004 -- but it is more evidence that the market works and prices help control consumption, Boston-based Cambridge Energy Research Associates said.

Miles driven per motorist was down partly because there are more elderly people driving, and they tend to drive less, the report said. Between 1980 and 2004, drivers under age 21 dropped from 18.8 million to 15.8 million and those over 65 almost doubled, from 15.4 million to nearly 29 million, CERA said.

Average annual miles per vehicle also declined last year, from 11,946 to 11,856. That number for cars is smaller than average miles per motorist because there are more cars than licensed drivers in the United States, 1,148 per thousand, CERA said.

How do we make cities more cyclist-friendly?

1) Devotion and Understanding
The 1st thought is in this question begs the question, how devoted are you to SOLVING THE PROBLEM? There is a clear distinction here. If you would really like to solve the problem as opposed to blaming another group (i.e. commuters or others)? Would you like to make cities more cyclist-friendly? Truly? If so, you may have to make some compromises or pay some fees (yes you) to make it happen. Are you willing to do that?

2) Complex Issue
This issue is much more complex than responders like “oddball” are capable of. If you do not have the mental capacity to solve it or an understanding of the issue please OPT-OUT. This is not about blaming one group or another. If you think it is, you are a part of the problem and not the solution, shove off!

Let’s take a look at a comment on the site. Oddball suggests, "I didn't see the bicycle" defense must be made "null and void." Is he an attorney that ge
