Can the ownership papers of a car legally be in a minors name? I'm 17 and trying to purchase a car with my own money, and I dont want my parents to have any kind of legal claim on it. What about insurance for the car? Can a minor get insurance without their parent?

Recently as I've begun to use the heat in my car, one day it was working and now only blows cold air. I just popped the hood and saw there was no coolant. I added about a bottle of coolant and it is still blowing. Any thoughts on what I should be checking or what this may be from?

Basically i popped into the shop today. Parked on a single yellow. Was in there for no more than 45 seconds? Came out and theres a Parking Attendant there, standing in front of the car. Looks at me and then says, 'You shoud have been quicker'? I Got in the car, turned ignition on and hes still standing in front, for abot 15 seconds, turn teh steering wheel, and he literally slaps ticket on car and walks off? The ticket says I was parked there from 1452 to 1453. Is the ticket valid? Am i not supposed to have a 5-minute grace, so he can observe whether there was loading taking place? Also, isnt the machine they use supposed to restrict how fast they can enter information, someone at the council once told me that.Because i've observed PA's standing from a distance (out of sight) to record your information, ie licence plate, street your on etc., then in the last minute, getting up close, so they can enter the tax disc number. sneaky, i know. Anyway, does the 5-minute grace exist?

In world war two, why were we (usa/usaf)the only one to use .50 caliber shells and everyone else use 7.7 (.303 cal.) rounds? Why diddent our bombers (b-17, b-24, etc) carry 20mm cannons instead of .50 caliber turrets?

The wiper on my driver side suddenly stopped moving during a drive in the rain the other day. The car is a 1998 nissan sentra gxe. It has about 140,000 miles on it. I have not checked any connections or other issues. let me know if you have any suggestions as to what could be the issue.

so i'm driving to church w/ the top down....

i notice a ford explorer keeping pace w/ me. i don't look and keep going. he's staying w/ me for a mile @ about 70 mph. i get tired of it so i speed up to 85 mph to pass him and in my rearview mirror notice he's still following. he catches up and paces me again alongside of me. finally i get tired of it. i jump in the carpool lane doing over 100 mph to get away and i notice he's still trying to follow me. he gets closer and i lose him jumping off the off-ramp.

i ask you why?

he didn't want to race me. i've raced others before and they've kept pace and tried to pass me. this guy just keeps pace. all my friends would have honked the horn or yelled my name or even called my cell phone.

what should i do if this happens in the future? what would you do?

I saw a used truck that looks pristene but has a lot of miles and don't know if I should buy it. Its an s10 and I would hope to go far enough that I could save up and put in a new engine in. Of course I don't know how much a new engine cost or where to get one.
