Could be a number of things. The light means low oil pressure. That could happen because the oil pump is worn out, or the bearings and seals are worn so much that they don't keep the oil in place long enough for the pressure to build up, or that you're just low on oil. Check the dipstick before you drive it anywhere to see how much is there. If it's low, add oil soon.
You can help compensate if the parts are worn by using a thicker oil. Try a 40W to see if that helps. Basically, the higher the number, the higher the viscosity - that is, the resistance to flowing. Thicker oil means that it doesn't squeeze out of moving parts as well.
good luck!

Low Oil. Bad bearings, weak oil pump. You gave limited information so it would be difficult to give a better answer. The size of motor would help. They put 2.0 2.5 and 2.7 motors in them. The mileage on the car would help to. What did the dipstick read when you checked it?

Did this only initiate at this oil substitute? if so, feels like a bad, restrictive oil clear out. Do they alter the oil clear out? Is is historical and clogged? i'm hoping no longer... it is going to idle fortunately around seven-hundred-900 RPM (my wager at RPM, could be off somewhat). Your oil stress easy should not be on in any respect. how many miles on engine? it may be drained out. A thicker oil could help. If the oil substitute place put in an exceedingly easy oil (occasion 0w20) it extremely is barely too easy on your engine, which substitute into designed for 5w30 (verify your proprietor's handbook). in case you're specific that they used 5w30, you should attempt 10w30. no longer the final for iciness on your specific automobile, even if it may help.

Oil light is on for one reason only, oil pressure below what it should be. Get it fixed. It may be as simple as a bad sensor, but if you are indeed without oil pressure, it can lead to very expensive repairs.

Depending on the engine some of the Chyslers have poor oiling problems. I have talked to Jasper engine rebuilders and they told me about the poor oiling systems, I was going to replace the egine fora freind and it was cheaper to buy a new car.

sounds like your oil sending unit is not working properly, and it could be you are due for an oil change or when the oil was changed they did not reset your oil light. I would have it checked out to find out if the oil sending unit is working or not.
