Evening all,

I have an Alfa Romeo 156 (2.0 TwinSpark).

Today I started the car, but had it cut out after 2 seconds. It happened the subsequent two times, by which time I realised the revs were dropping. I restarted the car and immediately depressed the accelerator to get the revs up, and after holding it at 1500 revs for 5-10 seconds, it was fine (i.e. able to idle with no input from me).

I was thinking that it might be due to the strain of the aircon, as later on, it looked as if it might do it again (on starting the car), so i quickly turned the aircon off, resulting in the rev needle jumping up ~400 revs.

I know next to nothing about cars, could the problem starting be just due to the strain of the aircon in the hot weather... or should I be concerned? When the engine cut out, it showed the oil/battery indicators, but both checked out fine (I know how to do that at least!).

I'm under 25, and I'd like to buy a cheap car. Over a 6 month period, the insurance will cost much more than the car itself!! So is there a point to getting a car?

Hey guys, I was just driving on the freeway and a small rock hit on the windshield of my Jeep Grand Cherokee causing a crack about a foot long, which is currently spreading. How much do you think it would cost to have the windshield replaced?

In other words, I got hit in Massachusetts by a overnight delivery truck. They were clearly at fault, but this is a no-fault state. Assuming my car is totaled, my insurance will pay market value. Can I go after the delivery company's insurance to make up the difference so I can go buy the same car new? We always buy new cars, we weren't expecting to replace a 2004 Pilot in 2006 and hadn't budgeted to do so. Why should we be forced to buy a used car when this accident was no fault of our own?

Yesterday, when I started the engine the battery light came on as did the (flashing) air bag light and continued until I arrived at my destination. Today, while I had already been driving down the freeway, the same thing happened with both lights. Eventually the check engine light came on. As I got off the freeway my car started idling low and seemed to want to shut off at stop signs. I was able to drive it to where I was headed. I will be going to a mechanic tomorrow. I just want to get some ideas of what it could possibly be so I don't get taken. Also, It's a stick shift if that helps.

Does any one know of a place that I can buy the ignition coil for a Datsun/Nissan ’82 B310. This is the 150cc engine.

My Acura salesman told me that i can go ahead and pump octane 87 since i'm in California. The manual says premium. The salesman said that in California, 87 is the premium of all other states. Have you heard of this?

I have a 1995 Mazda MPV, 4WD and one by one everything is quitting. The 'check engine' light is on, but 2 mechanics have told me that nothing is wrong and to ignore it. NOW, one by one, all the accessories are quitting. The rear AC is no longer working, the auto locks are no longer 'auto', etc, etc. Could my computer be going out, or what? Please advise, buying another car now is not in the budget - Help.

when i called the police they didnt want to showq up .i saw a few of them pass by by and look at me as if i was crazy. so i went and made a police report on it now what should i do? when you have two cars both with same fault one has never been to a vauxhall agent and stands me in £125.00 ie carton 2000ltr
then we have the astra 1600 16v artic this car know stands me in over £3000.00
but you must remember 50% OF THIS PRICE is the repair cost of Vauxhall.

Why do ppl complain about gas prices and yet there are so many ppl who joyride like crazy?! They go out for stupid reasons. I understand that some ppl work far from home and thats ok but what about the rest of them? What would happen if we were forced to conserve?
