I have a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer 4.3 Vortec Engine that I plan to use in another vehicle for a project. I would prefer to have a carburetor instead of the fuel injection. Is it possible to change the intake maintaining the VORTEC heads? The engine is going into a classic car, and I want to maintain that look, while using the engine I have available to me. And If I change the intake, how will this affect other components?

I think that a muscle car pumping out at about 425 horses can easily murder an import but i've seen imports with 425+ hp. Which one do u think is BETTER?

If so how is it done and how much does it cost? I mean, can you just purchase a keyless entry pad and it's programmed or what? Thanks

I just posted this question, but I have new info.

For astarters, the day before it finally died, I noticed that twice that day I would turn my key to start my car and it would pause, then maybe 1/2 a second later it would start. The next day, nothin.

Dead.

I just went outside to see what's up, the connections seem all good. The alternator is new and the battery is charged ok, but when I go start it it does nothing. No clicks, nothing. I was advised to maybe "tap" the starter with a wrench, but is that possible without lifting the car? I can't even tell where the starter is in the Haynes manual. Any help would be seriously appreciated. Any ideas?

I took my car in for a service (1999 Vauxhall Tigra) and I cannot believe the quote they have given me to carry out repairs. Are there any mechanics out there who can tell me whether a) they are completely overcharging me and b) whether someone who fixes cars would buy this from me with these faults and how much for!

OK this is the list of things they said was wrong;
1) Excessive shudder whe moving from standstill possible clutch. advised strip for investigation.
2) Car excessively smoking when revved, requires cylinder head gasket.
3) Advised timing belt and spark plugs due to age and mileage if not been done.
4) Back box baffles ex loose.
5) 2 rear shockers leaking
6) Excessive leak at power steering rack and power steering pump leaking.
7) Excessive oil leak at sump gasket.
Their quote for INVESTIGATING the gasket and gearbox, replacing the spark plugs, changing the timing belt and blackbox, 2 new rear shock absorbers, steering rack and pump and sump gasket was
£1948.

I was recently in a really bad accident and my car is now in the shop. I went by yesterday and they were still working on it. when I looked at the parts they were replacing, they were all differerent colors and it looked like they chopped up another cars parts and stuck it on my car. My question is ...is this safe, honest, and will you be able to tell the car has been chopped up? Also, they have to repaint all of these parts including the entire right side and the trunk....how long does that process take?

Never had problem until today. Have to press clutch all the way in so safety device will allow ignition to start car. Suddenly today may have to press clutch several times before ignition will fire. Is there an easy solution to this problem, possibly a switch ar fuse or something?

Oh sure, I know there are a few white wall tires and maybe there was a colored car tire or 2 made sometime, somewhere, that's not the point.

The point is, why don't tire companies wise up and make colored tires?

There would be a huge, instant market for them. What punk kid wouldn't want red tires to match his shiny red car? Even cheesy old geezers like myself would like them. I know they can be made because colored bicycle tires are quite common. Bicycle tires are high pressure, high performance tires, and they come in almost every color. Maybe colored tires would cost a bit more, who cares, why aren't they available?
