There is an actual act passed by the US congress called the Magnuson Moss Act. It allows you to go anywheres and get it serviced. As long as you keep all the receipts you are fine. But if the engine blows up due to the oil change place (say having a hole in the oil filter), it's will be the the oil change places responsibility not Honda.. but if something internally goes out, as long as you have receipts Honda can't tell you nothing as you kept up your end...

Well part in thanks to Pennzoil, you can take your car anywhere to have the oil changed or do it yourself. Just keep all paperwork and receipts. In the 80's Pennzoil sued and won against Ford Motor Co. Ford not only claimed you have to do it at dealer but they also required you to use motor craft oil and filters only. I cant remember the case name but I work for Pennzoil and recall it very well. In the end the courts ruled that an automaker can not regulate where you get your oil changed nor can they make you use a certain type of oil. The only exception to that rule is the newer cars that require synthetic like the corvette to mention one. The cap says Mobil 1 but you can use any synthetic oil.

I think you can take it anywhere as long as they keep paperwork. However, it is actually cheaper for me to go to the dealership where I bought my SUV to get the oil changed than Jiffy Lube.

No problem if you keep your recipts-However, recently Honda has been using a zero wieght oil in some aplications that you will have a hard time finding anywhere else. Also, STRICKLY follow your maintanance schedule because they will look for any excuse to void a warrenty

Do it yourself, save time and money, it is a 30 min job, just get good syntetic oil and a good filter.

in the case you took to a local lube change shop, tell them to use the oil it is recommended to the model of the car. or bring your onw.

you can't be denied warranty work for not doing your maintenance at the dealer, make sure you keep your records, because dealers are snakes and will try to use any excuse to keep from doing warranty work

take it anywhere. besides, hondas are so reliable (i have one), you probably won't have any problems anyway. mine is a 99 and nothing but oil changes, tires and brakes. i still have my original wipers cuz they're fine!

unless you signed a specific agreement, it will not void the warranty. you should take it to someone you trust, or any place that changes oil
