I recently signed a one year lease with my fiancee on an apartment that he was sharing with his grandmother temporarily. She was planning to move out in a month. Now we find out it will be AT LEAST six months if not a year before she can get into elderly housing. We are living out of boxes and most of my stuff is being stored elsewhere. I don't really have any other place to go and it is really cramped here and I don't have space for any of my belongings. We would leave and let her have the place, but we're on the lease now. What should we do?

I have a family of 6 in a 3 bdrm! Only bought this house to make money and buy a bigger one. I have a1st & 2nd w/ 2 banks. The 1st is ARM that we cannot afford. Bank says we owe more than it's worth and we cant refi. We did 100% financing.I talked to 2 brokers and 4 banks, they all said NO. We decided to let it foreclose. Payment not yet 30days late, but what can I expect? Will I be harassed by the bank? What are the consequences? Can they tap into my bank account? Will I have to file bankruptcy?

Hypothetical, you pay 100k cash for a house from a realtor. What other costs are there? Do you have to pay taxes right away, pay the realtor anything from the pocket etc?

i turn everything off but it is a gas home so the hot water heater runs. they charge a 50.00 fee for gas, a base fee of 21.00 for sewer, a 10.00 base water fee, and a 16.00 trash fee. I am only at this house maybe 1 weekend a month and my bill runs me about 250 a month, a whole lot more than my house I live in 24/7 that runs me monthly about 125 with more square footage than my vacation house which is smaller. What other sources of energy can I use so I am not ripped a new one from this eletric company??

Why do you think that homeownership is so high? Do you think most of these people will be homeowners in a few months or a few years. I do not mean to use the word "suckers" in a bad way. I just want to know if you think thse people were tricked (either tricking themselves, or tricked by slick salespeoples) in to thinking that they could afford the home that they bought.
Or do you think that this is not the case, and that most of the new homeowners are comfortably paying their bills and will be ok?

I signed a purchase agreement back in January before the house was even built and I have been renting since then, rent to own. But, now I decided that I do not want to purchase this house. The agreement states that my earnest money will be non refundable so does this mean that I can back out? Do I have to go through court or anything? Any advice would be helpful... thank you

It's not in the contract and I was convinced that pumping the septic system was maintenance--which the landlord should take care of.

My apartment complex is trying to collect a full month's rent because I gave a 30 day notice instead of a 60 day notice as stated in my lease contract. I signed a 12 month lease and stayed a full 12 months. I did not break my lease. Can they do this to me? Who can I contact for legal advice or where can I look onlne to get evidence that this act is unethical? I live in the state of Texas.

I want to create a group on real estate agents so we can share leads, opportunities and market information. A blog won't do it, facebook won't either, and an email alias/group there is no way to track information easily...and creating or bulding an app from scratch doesn't make much sense either. There has to be an onlin service that can help me get there....

I've been reading about some mortgage companies filing for bankruptcy so what would happen to your house in that situation? Would you get to keep it? Do you automatically lose it? Who would get it in that instance?

We let our cousin stay with us a few months and he is leaving next month. Our landlord come by today and said we had to give hime $400. thats $100 each month he has been here. It doesn't say in the lease that rent would go up for a visitor or with a short live-in. It does say that we were suppose to tell him if anyone was going to be staying with us for longer than 15 days. But we did not know that. Can he make us pay for that?

I won't stay in the property itself.

is this legal in UK?

There are about 10 houses for sale in my neighborhood and they just aren't showing. Some have been on the market for over 250 days. Realtor told us that it is a buyers market right now. I live in a booming suburb of Dallas, but I am getting frustrated. I can't come down from my asking price too much b/c I've only been in the house about 4 years and I don't want to take a hit just to move out of it. A friend works for a nationally known mortgage co and says the average house in the Dallas area is taking 10 months to sell. I can't wait that long! Any insight on the market from experts?
