Our area isn't covered by Zillow.com and our county website shows tax records............they are only useful for sales the previous year. We're thinking about selling and want to watch the price trends.

talk to a local Real Estate Agent, the MLS Data are pretty current. The Realtor can get you most recently sold properties in your area or more specific information about direct comparable properties to your property - pulling only sold properties with similar SF, similar age,... . The Realtor can also inform you about changes in the market, if prices are going up or down, how many homes are on the market and in what price range. To get an overview, your best bet is find a Realtor who will work with you and for you.

The Tax Assessor Information are most of the time a few month behind and some Tax Assessor Web Sites are asking a fee for the public to grant access.

If you have a banker/ Loan Officer that you know and trust, they should have the resources available to keep you up-to-date and informed on exactly that.
I would suggest checking in with them every 3-4 months, sales prices are not changing that rapidly in the current housing market.
If you do not have someone like this to reference, feel free to contact me anytime. My advice is free.

Your register of Deeds should show recent sales. Otherwise, start working with a Realtor who can pull the information for you.
