I live in the state of FL. I don't have a lease. I just pay my rent on a monthly basis, I have been living in the same apartment for two years now and the landlord raised my rent by $100. Since my tenancy is from month-to-month and no lease was signed, can he lawfully raise my rent on a monthly basis if he pleases? Thank You!

Hi, I'm trying to buy a restaurant right now. I already signed the purchase agreement. So far I don't have my own agent. The agent hired by the seller tells me what to do next. That is because this agent told me that since the purchase price of the restaurant is kind of low, I shouldn't hire my agent. Well she said so, so I didn't hire anyone, and I thought she is going to help me for every little thing as my agent as well because she is getting double commission. But she is not doing as well as i expected. When I ask help for something she simply tells me to figure out by myself. Also, i talked with restaurant owners about my situation, they all say I should have my agent. So I want to hire my own real estate agent But I don't know if I can do so now. I already signed the purchase agreement, and escrow is about to open. Is it too late to hire my own agent?? Someone help me!!!

Somebody told me that real estate agents driving expensive cars have better chance at selling real estate. Is this true? Is it necessary to drive an expensive car to get a better chance at getting a listing? I over-heard somebody who just became a real estate agent that he's going to trade-in his late model pick-up for a luxury car so that he can become a better real estate agent. I don't understand logic behind this.

The home is sold, all the inspections have been done, waiting to close at the end of the month seems everything is alright , but wait husband and wife split in almost two months in contract. Seller has put down payment on another home, set up for the movers and given final notice to there employer. One of the parties has left, and can't be found everything is on hold. Closing on the other home is in May. Does seller have any recourse against these people since it is so far along in the deal to recoup some of the proceeds put down on other home that will be lost, becides the escrow money?

I bought this house in 1998. I lived there until last year, in which time I refinanced it twice. I am now renting the property out. I am filling out my taxes and being asked to fill in boxes with "abstract recording fees" "legal fees, title search" "title insurance" etc.

Am I supposed to add these fees from the refinancing as well?

My husband wants to transfer his 50% share of our flat to me. We jointly own it right now. What is the process to do so? We currently have a interests only mortgage with a bank. I don't have any income. we rented the flat out, so I'm thinking to apply a buy to let mortgage for the transaction. The rent can cover the interests.

It is very soon going to be a good time to buy real property so keep looking and you can gain a lot.

Many are loosing their homes now because they were not very smart. Home prices will drop and bargains will be there soon.

Good time to watch your friends and you might get their house at a bargain price.

.My landlord called my husband and asked us to move out at the end of the month because he found another renter that was willing to pay him an extra $200 a month for rent. We had months previously agreed to a Month 2 Month lease and both parties signed and agreed to the terms. On the lease it states that we have a Month to Month lease until Feb 08 for a set rent amount. Is he allowed to end this signed agreement because he feels he can get more money from someone else? If so, it doesn't leave anyone feeling safe with a signed agreement if he is able to just have his tenants out as he sees fit.

I got a mortgage approval and got a week away from the settlement/closing table and I lost my job. We had put so much into getting the house and after much agonizing we decided we could still afford it and be financially comfortable. Today at the closing table I signed a document saying that I allow my mortgage provider to check my employment (again!) for verification. It didn't say they would, just said they could. Will they check my employment, again? Is this common practise to check employment AFTER they purchase the house on someone's behalf? If they check my employment and find I no longer have that job, what will they do? Thank you for your advice.

We were supposed to close on the sell of our house on 3/26, but due to the buyer's mortgage company it has been postponed until who knows when. Now that the 1st of the month has come another month's mort is due and we will be responsible for 100% of the interest since it's an FHA loan. Is there any legal way to get the buyer's to forfeit their ernest money since they did not close on their contracted closing date?
