I paid 1K to a company to provide a service to a business I took over from a previous owner from September 1st till January 1st. I ended up closing the business halfway through. I called and asked for a refund. The business owner told me that I had actually paid 1K for the previous tab the business had before I got on. When I originally spoke with the guy to make payment, he said that I was paying for Sept 1st to Jan 1st. My credit card company is Discover. Can I tell them I want a chargeback of my money since the merchant defrauded me?

My boyfriend is paying for a medical procedure I need to have with his credit card over the phone. I am 99% he won't back out on payment...But would it be possible for him to pay on his credit card....then decide to back out and take back the payment and I would be stuck with the bill? I am just kinda worried because the procedure is 10,00 and If I get stuck with the bill I wouldn't be able to pay. Someone told me that you get 3 days to take back a credit card payment that large? Someone please give me advice! Once someone says that they will pay for your procedure are THEY responsible for payment or could it fall back on you?

Since they were in his name only, is my mother responsable for paying off my fathers debt? If Mom does not pay Dad's monthly credit card bill will this effect Mom's credit? Mom is 82 Years old and might need a loan for funeral & burial costs & /or a reverse mortgage. Will not paying her husbands credit card debt adversly affect her credit & chances for a loan when needed? House has been in an irrevocable trust for 4 years. Mom has no assets . Minimal amount in savings $4000.00 with monthly $950.00 SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK & $400.00 pension check. That's it .Nothing more & nothing else. Dad was the only name on the cards & if there were charges made to these cards while he was alive & were his wife's or daughter's charges are they responsible for repayment? Dad had also sighned a notorized letter stating that his daughter and wife has, had, and have the right to use and sign his name to the account now, and in the past and in the future. Now there are No charges after his death. Default?

I just found out that my Mom used my name on some bills (I was a minor at the time) and now those bills are in collections. What should I do. I am 26, married with a two year old son. We are working on paying off student loans and clearing our own debts. What should I do. She is my mother! I would expect this from a stranger, a common criminal, not my own mother!

Ok, I was having trouble with MC for YEARS! I finally paid them off in a settlement both sides agreed on about a month ago. I was told by a VISA rep of all people to ask them to remove their personal and derogatory comments made about me with the credit bureau.

I've called them to this effect and keep being told someone will return my call. I also have not received any paper work confirming that the account is settled.

What should I do?

For example if a company or a person has caused my credit score to be lower by posting incorrect information about me and I could not get low rates on my mortgage and car payments, can I sue them for the money that I have overpaid. If you have the correct answer, could you point me to the specific law and text? Thank you in advance.

Just as people have applied at banks for unreasonable charges to be returned would I have a case in this instance. The £4.00 is 20% of the actual bill.

I got something in the mail and I'm 99.9% sure that my ex is doing this to me. A phone line was open in my name and social security number many years ago. The "final bill" was in March of 2000. This was at least three states away from anywhere I ever lived. Is there any way I can find out what else he did to me? I know he was into small-dollar crime, and this would qualify as that.

Yay! I'm pre-approved...

How exactly do you get them to stop sending these offers? If I kept them all, I probably could build a house out of them...

Is there a way?
