Ok, I was having trouble with MC for YEARS! I finally paid them off in a settlement both sides agreed on about a month ago. I was told by a VISA rep of all people to ask them to remove their personal and derogatory comments made about me with the credit bureau.

I've called them to this effect and keep being told someone will return my call. I also have not received any paper work confirming that the account is settled.

What should I do?

No, I did request a copy of my credit report to find out but I have not received it yet. So I do not know exactly what the comments are, just that the VISA rep was appalled by it and told me I should do something about it.

you can challenge it at the credit bureau and the company that put the comments in has thirty days to respond if they do not they will remove the comments.

MasterCard is not known for putting 'personal and derogatory comments' in a person's credit file, nor are the credit reporting agencies known for ACCEPTING such comments of a personal nature.

Before you go off half-******, you should get a copy of your credit file and observe just what is in the file.

Have you seen the comments? What did they say?

Without knowing this information there is no way to answer your question.
