Im 19 I just got my first credit card. I have an 1000 limit and I spent 800. I had to get new stuff for my apartment. It wasnt mindless spending. I was going to pay it off as I got paid. $200 increments. Well I dont get paid by check till next thursday and my bill was due on the 30th. I asked my bf to let me get the money he owed me so I could at least pay the minimum. I was 3 short. and I had a direct deposit coming on the 31st for $100. He didnt want to go to the bank so he said just pay them when I get paid. But then I said it will be late, then he said all credit cards have a grace period. I didnt even read up on that part when I got it, because I did not plan to make late payments in the first place!!! Well I thought ok hes had credit longer than me so he would know. I just checked my account and now I have a $40 late fee!!! I just paid, but still. I feel like his debt and laziness put me into this problem. It just so happens when my billl is due, I havent been paid yet.

New Credit Card Scam Snopes.com says this is true. See this site -

This one is pretty slick since they provide YOU with all the information, except the one piece they want. Note, the callers do not ask for your card number; they already have it. This information is worth reading. By understanding how the VISA & MasterCard Telephone Credit Card Scam works, you'll be better prepared to protect yourself.
One of our employees was called on Wednesday rom "VISA", and I was called on Thursday from "Master Card". The scam works like this: Person calling says, "This is (name), and I'm calling from the Security and Fraud Department at VISA. My badge number is 12460. Your card has been flagged for an unusual purchase pattern, and I'm calling to verify. This would be on your VISA card which was issued by ( name of bank).

I want to do it, but I'm paranoid about giving out all of my personal information over the internet.
