I am a 25 yr old male with a good job. I am not having trouble paying for the two cards I own, however I am thinking that the rate on my personal loan would be significantly lower than my two credit cards. I was wondering if a personal loan for about 10K would hurt my credit score?

Be honest.. do you just hang up? Do you lie and say you'll pay your bill just to make them happy? Do you avoid the calls?

Do you worry that not paying will ruin your credit rating?

If I buy an item over the phone using my credit card, what protection do I have if the seller deducts more money from my card than the agreed selling price, or if somebody who overheard me on the phone, tries to use my credit card details to buy items for himself or herself.

I have disputed a utility account for a measly $106 that is not mine. The thing is that it is in a bordering state that I have never lived in. I proved I did not live there and sent police report that was filed for ID theft, but they still won't remove it. This was done last year and I thought it was done until I got my new report. I called them and they still said i was responsible. I know it is not much but ITS NOT MINE and I am Not paying it!
I didn't know about DV until recently when I came on here. That is my next step so any suggestions are appreciated.
Oh, and does the CA have to be licensed in my state or the other state?

I got approved to refinance to a 30yr loan, but I didn't think about whether I would have to pay 10% down (or whatever amount), in order to refinance. I know there will be closing costs... but what about the down payment??? Thanks.

Hi, I live with my spouse in his home that he purchased before marriage, I am on a visitor's visa from Canada and am waiting for residency status. I have to travel back and forth to maintain my visitor's status, and as such I do not work, and we do not have any joint assets, credit cards, bank accounts etc. The house went into foreclosure after our marriage, and my husband is now considering filing for bankruptcy for other debts he had incurred prior to our marriage. How will this affect my credit?

It was suppose to be my car but my dad is using it doesn't look like he wants to give it back.He is the owner of the car because being 19 I'm just establishing credit and he decided to help me out.It is going to be a lost because I put 8,000 down from saving bonds my grandfather left me.I still have $7,000 balance on the car.He doesn't pay the car note on time which is messing up my credit that is why I want to find a car myself and try to remove my name

I have had one foreclosure on a house due to a bad business deal. This foreclosure isn't final yet, but will be soon. If i want to get out of my house and go with a foreclosure there, both foreclosures will be withing a few months of each other. Would the recovery time for my credit be the same with both foreclosures as it would be with just one???

I realize that my best option would be to sell the house, but i owe more on it then it is worth, so this would be pointless because i don't have the money to make up the difference.

I think people should be more than a credit score. The guy in the commercial said he "married his dream girl" but after she had bad credit he could be a "happy bachelor with a dog and a yard"..as a "credit challenged consumer" I find the commercial very offensive. Does anyone else? I want to start and alternative credit system and call it "crudco" it would be if people pay their rent and house payments. That is what is important. what do you think?

I just got married and I'm trying to fix my new husband's credit. He has some accounts that are way past due. One of them is for $7,000 on a credit card and they say they are getting ready to send to an attorney. They want $700 for the next 3 months to stop the interest and we just don't have it. Can they still pass a judgment and garnish his wages if we are making payments, but only waht we can afford (About $50-$100 a month) ???
