I have a question about Credit Reports and a friend told me this, and im not sure its true.. Is this true or false...If you dispute information on your credit report, you can add a consumer statement explaining the circumstances.

I just got a thing in the mail from the Union Workers Credit Services saying I was pre-approved for a platinum credit card with a credit limit of $10,000 and an APR of 5%. It has no bank affiliation and I didn't apply for this card. My other two credit cards have credit limits of $750 and $1,500 and I don't have a great credit rating, only around 665. It sounds too good to be true so I'm hesitant to respond to it but it would be a good way to consolidate my debt onto one card and pay off my car loan.

How do I find out if this is a scam or not? It says to reply by 12/5 and send a check/money order for $37 which is fully refundable after my first purchase with my card. It doesn't give me a phone number or website, and I don't want to send $37 to someone and not be able to consolidate my debt onto this card.

I'm also not in any workers union so I don't know how the company got my name. Where can I go to see if this is a scam or not, because if it isn't, I'd be a life saver.

does anyone have Wachovia Dealer Services as their finance lender? if so, they are going to f***k you long term... i recently lost my job two months ago and i called Wachovia and told them that i wasn't currently working and ask them to give me a defernment. Wachovia told me that i didn't qualify, due to me being a new customer. i'm now two months behind on my payments and Wachovia sends me a letter, stating that my vehicle has been reposessed and it will be reported to the 3 credit bureaus in 30 days. i was only two payments behind. i didn't think it was possible for a vechicle to be reposessed if behind on two payments. they didn't even report me 60 days late on my credit. can i fight this? i don't want my credit destroyed!! is their such an attorney that handles cases such like this? please help.

A friend of mine said that a company gave a presentation and said that if you have a credit card and you don't use at least half of your limit, it is bad for your credit. I've had one for about a year, and have not used it once. To me, that whole thing sounds ridiculous. Anyone know if there's any truth to this?

Ok I'm very, very worried right now. I stopped paying my credit cards about one yr ago due to the fact that I dont have a job, and go to school full time. Recently, I just got contacted by a paralegal who works at a attorney's collection office. He started telling me on how much trouble I could get If I did not start paying at least 120/ a month. I owe 2,400. But there is no way I can pay. My plan was to finish my last yr of school and pay it next yr. My credit is already messed up, it sucks. But I need to finish school, and I can't work. He just scared me saying they can garnish my earnings ( which I don't have a job or savings) take away properties ( I don't have any) But my question here is what can they actually do???? Like I said I'm a Florida resident. What are the laws here when it comes to collection, and what can they actually do? I only owe about 4,000 in CC which I know I will pay as soon as I finish my career. Help!!

She took out a $500 loan and she thought they would just take it out of her next paycheck. Well, I guess you have to fax them in writing two days before your payday and tell them that you want to pay it off. If not, then they just take out $80, which does not go toward any of your loan. The fax number she has is always busy. We can't find a phone number for them. She asked the bank if they could get contact info for the loan company, they said that all they have is the name that the ACH comes through with, which is "BIG". Does anyone have any suggestions?

if i get a loan for 5000 with a reeking interest rate of 19% which then makes it about 5950 i owe total thanks to the interest rate. making my monthly payments 129.70

BUT if i then turn around and pay back 2000 of the 5000 originally owed (since i dont need the whole 5000 but thats the minimum for this type of a loan) will my interest rate STAY 19% for the remaining 3950 that i will owe? and once im down to the 3950 that i owe-what will my monthly payment be at now at this time?

thanks for any help.
