Wow, I just talked to one of the agent and he was quit rude; I asked if I can work out a payment arrangement or pay a lower amount so I can pay it full and he said "we don't give out discounts to someone who doesn't make payment". I understand I made mistake, but I lost my job and could not keep up with my bills. They are taking me to court next month and I want to see if I can settle so I don't have to pay court fees. Should I just go to court, or should I call the lawyer office, are they the same company from the collection agency? With interest my collection amount is around $1200 do you think it's worth it to get a lawyer? I really want to pay this off. This is the only negative I have in my report. Please help. Thank you all!!!

I have a balance on my Visa bill - my payment keeps getting higher as I pay the balance...how is this. The interest rate hasn't changed (8.9%) and I haven't charged on this card in 8 months. Here is the situation:

Month Balance Req. Payment/Amt. Paid Billing Days
June $3318 $35/$100 32
July $3,244 $55/$50 30
August $3,217 $56/$75 32

I see I made a mistake on July by being $5 short but I over pay on all the other months. I live overseas so I just pay the payment through my bank (not B of A) b/c I don't get my statement until almost a month later so I didn't realize the difference for August, but I assumed since the payment required the month before was $35 I was safe. Why the jump between June and July?

My credit score is 300-400 and Ive never once had a credit source in my life. Two small medical bills I thought were taken care of have put me in bad credit. So apparently Im not qualified for first time buyer and they sent me over to there special credit. They tried to sell me a 94 car with no radio or AC for 5 grand and 18 month deal.

Does anyone know any big time legit companies with internet applications that offer help to those who need something higher then local special credit in Maine? Thanks

I receive a letter several months ago stating that my mom didn't have insurance at the time of services (she was hospitalized for several days). The letter never stated how much she owed. I basically filed the letter away. Last week I get a phone call from a credit agency. They wouldn't talk to me even though I have Power of Attorney. I had no clue what this was about. Today I get a letter stating that she owes $$ and the creditor is attemptying to collect debt. I go ahead and write a check for the amount due. Well now what happens? Is her credit wrecked? What do I have to do to remedy this?

I don't owe them anything, my FiCOs are in the 760 range, i have plenty of revolving debt, a mortgage, other major credit cards, department store cards, etc. Yeah, I could keep the account open and just not use it but this credit card provider, Chase, is just so scuzzy that i want nothing whatsoever to do with them.

Can anyone give a ballpark estimate about how many points this will nick me for, if any? Thanks.

I filed for bankruptcy about 4 years ago and my lawyer was able to list pretty close to everything I had crazy on there. The creditor contacting me is asking for the money that was added in the bankruptcy.

There's not too much in there. My penalty would be $550 but my credit card debt is over 10K. I'd like to pay off at least half. Currently a student so paying credit card is a chore. Working only part time now.

Credit card A: about 9.99% interest on 5K owed.
Credit card B about 14% interest on 6K owed.

Also, is it wise to open another (third) credit card with 0% interest to put the remainder of my cc balances? My credit card B was opened for that purpose but the date has passed so the APR is now at 14%. And when is it good to close an account, better to leave open with a zero balance?

They say I only had five days to return the equipment. Antenna and modem. I mailed the modem and ask they pick up the antenna. They failed to pick up the antenna stating I was not home. The antenna was easily accessible on a pole in my driveway. Now they have turned me over to collections without the 10 day grace period. If I dispute the debt with the collector can they continue collections? What recourse do I have?

I applied for 3 credit cards at about the same time 2 years ago. They all got maxed out, and I never paid any of them after a while, and they got sent to collections. I paid off one, but it didn't seem to help me any in terms of the score. Will paying off the others help? I need to raise my score, but if paying them off won't help me I'd rather wait until I had a good paying job to settle them. I am on the phone with one of the credit people now as I type, but I need assistance on what to do ASAP!!! Please help!!!
