Derogatory accounts stay on your credit for 7-years from the date of first delinquency.
As long as the information is correct, there is nothing you can do to remove it.

Generally if you do not negotiate removal from your credit report the item stays on for 7 years from the date you paid it off. The good news is that old paid off items do not affect your credit score a significant amount and the fact that they are paid off is good for your credit.
If it is items that you have paid off you can dispute the items with the credit bureau and also request a debt validation with the creditor and that might get the item removed (because if the creditor cannot provide proof that the debt is valid they are required to remove the item). Hopefully you have proof that you paid the item on the chance that they can validate the debt (without proof they do not have to remove the item or show it as paid off).
It is always a good idea to attempt to negotiate removal of an item when you pay it. Here is a link that gives lots of info on how to negotiate with creditors.

It takes 7 years and 180 days from the date of last activity (DOLA) which is the default date, for negatives to fall off your credit report.
The older it gets, the less it actually impacts your credit score.

It takes approximately five years to be removed off your credit, also it depends on what the debt was.
