OK, I'm clearing up my credit report and I'm wondering which would you pay first? Pay off a judgement from an apartment complex ($548) from 2 yrs ago; pay down 2 maxed out credit cards both with a $300 credit limit (opened this year). Both will get paid but i'm just wondering if it makes a difference which one should get paid first. Also, does anyone know how much this will affect the credit score when it's paid off after about 3 months? Thanks.

I am having my credit card for the past three months and have excellent credit history. But the credit history is available under only one credit bureau. I am now applying for auto loan and when credit unions/financial institutions run a credit check they are not finding any credit history. There is no file in other credit unions.
How do we make sure appropriate information goes to all credit monitoring agencies? Is there anyway to report to those agencies or should I have to report to my bank(which has issued me the credit card) ?

This may be long but I need help, please read. Ok, I have had this credit card for 3 years. I always paid them on time until I got into a real financial trouble. I was in an accident, in and out of doctors, missing a lot of work. I couldn't pay them. Then when I was getting a little things worked out & was able to pay, I logged onto their website & it said they had been bought out by another company & gave their phone number. I called them and they were very rude and would not set up payment arrangements with them for less than $100 a month. I couldn't do that. I explained my situation to them & they said they couldn't do it. I ask them for a mailing address so that I could send them payments when I could and they would not do that. They said they couldn't accept anything less than $100 so I told them well I don't know what to do & they said they would turn it over to a collections agency so I said ok, do what you gotta do. Then today someone from Apex called me & said it's

Medical debt should be covered by insurance and is currently under investigation with medical facility. In the meantime, debt was purchased by a collection agency who now is calling repeatedly demanding payment. I've disputed with credit bureaus and with collection agency, but they are now threatening legal action. What else can I do?

Sorry, this is my 3rd and final (hopefully) question about credit reports :)

I'm in California, and it appears that the state's Statute of Limitations for credit card debt collection is 4 years from the date of the last payment.

So if I had a debt that wasn't fully paid in 2001, it's on my credit report from the original creditor. This is fine, as I know it can stay for 7 years. But, since the SoL has expired (In July 2005, which was 4 years after the last payment), they have sold it off to a collection agency.

While I also realize that the collections agency can still contact me to "convince" me to pay it, I don't believe legally they can do anything about it now other than harass me. (Hopefully this is correct so far?)

But, can that collections agency legally keep adding new negative items to my credit report? It would seem to me that since the debt is past the SoL and expired, that while they can harass me, they can't actually add items to my credit report about it. Any ideas?

My mom is has liver and bone cancer. Eventhough she's been given a good prognosis she can't work any longer and is disable because of the illness. She has cancer in her back bone. She use to be a hairdresser and as you know you need your back for support and due to long hours standing she can't. She has decided to declare Bankruptcy because besides the fact that she can't work she has credit cards that amount to $18k and can not afford to pay them with her disabilty check. I help my mom with groceries and other bills at home but I can't help her pay almost $600 dollars in credit card. My mom is a single mother and divorced. Its my 7 yr old brother and my 17 yr old brother. Will they take the apt away from her and her car? I am very concerned with this matter. She doesnt want to consildate because the dr has suggested that she has NO stress whatsoever and she thinks that by declaring bankruptcy she can sleep at night peacefully. All she wants is to keep her home and live in peace.

A collection agency sent me a letter a week ago for a medical debt from 2003. Checking back in my records, the date of service for the debt in question was never billed to me or my insurance company. Since I have the entire billing record for that year from the hospital, I was able to verify that the charges and service dates are incorrect. I wrote a letter (Certified with return receipt) to them showing that for the account they have in question, there was never any services performed on that date. However, just today I looked at my credit report and in July the collection agency placed a record on my credit report.
The debt was never validated with me (I just got the letter last week and I just responded, so I am well within the 30 days), why would they ding my credit report over 2 months ago? Should I also dispute the entry with each of the reporting agencies (in writing) proving that the collection is invalid? I

This doesn't make sense to me. If I paid something off, how can they in the same sentence say it was a charge off? This makes the account look negative when it isn't. If I dispute, will they have to take it off?

Can someone please tell me why if you are looking to buy a car and several different places run your credit to get your loan approved with their banks, your credit rating goes down? I don't understand why it would go down. What is the reason behind lowering your credit rating for shopping around for the best deal? Just trying to understand how this all works.

I cosigned a credit card loan for my brother. He racked up thousands and stopped paying over a year ago. The debt is already charged off. He is working with a credit counselor to resolve the debt but its going to be awhile. I'm wondering if maybe a "consumer statement" will help. There is nothing that indicates that it isn't actually my account. Any advice on wording a credit report consumer statement?

This horrible company called "Capital Management Services, L.P." [http://www.cms-collect.com/] continually calls and tells me that I owe them some debt. It's incorrect and I tell them that.

They are very, very rude. So about 6 months ago I told them to stop calling me. But they keep calling. Different people (all with strong Indian accents, yet amazingly American names like Sally and Bob) call each time. I always say, "I told you to stop calling me..." and they reply with some garbage like "I have never called you before. What is your name? You need to give me your name right now. Give me your name".

Obviously I refuse, and they say more rude comments and hang up. I have no luck when calling them and their phone is routed nowhere. The company appears to be in NY, USA! How is this legal??

My question is, how can I get this to stop permanently? I've seen many other reports too. I want to take action and get this stopped ASAP and hopefully get them in trouble as they deserve.
