I work but, don't have that much money to pay it off. Can I do a payment plan or something? I don't have any assets except for my car and I've heard of creditors being able to seize assets such as houses and cars. I'm very nervous. I don't want to ignore this lawsuit, I want to get this taken care of a.s.a.p, but I don't know where to start. PLEASE HELP!!!

I wanted to know if a credit card company charges off your account, can a different collection company pursue that same debt again years later and add late fees and interest charges and past due fees to the original charged off account?

We have really horrible credit. We have at least $8,000 in credit card debt alone. We also have medical bills, utilities from my husband's bachelor days, and insurance bills. All of these things haven't been paid in over 18 months. This is the plan.

1) Debt Settlement/Consolidation. It will take us 18 months to pay it all off. Through http://www.creditsolutions.com (Let me know what you've heard?
2) Then we are going to hire someone to do a credit cleanup/credit repair to erase all or most of our negative marks on our credit. (cost from about $900)
3) And finally, we are having my mother (who has excellent AAA credit) add us to two of her major credit cards and carry us as account shareholders for one year. We are going to help her make her monthly payments ect, but not actually have or use her cards.

Hopefully all of this will land us with some fair credit to be approved for home loan in say... 3 1/2 years.

Let me know what you think. How would you do this

I'm paying $50 dollars a month on a doctor bill I have. They've made it clear they don't want a payment plan, they want their money now. Well I can't do that, I'll pay $50/month until it's paid off.

Can this company turn my account over to a collection agency even if I'm making payments on it?

I was previously worked at Pune now i m shifted to mumbai. Bank's officials kept me calling on my cell.At begning i told them that i will pay my all dues, but now i m not in position to pay till i get job & it will take me another 3 months to finish my PG diploma. I stopped answering calls from banks.
I only pray that i will pay all my dues but they should not contact my native place, to my mom & dad , they r not aware of this. At pune i stayed alone. My parents are living at our native place.
I m afraid that they will call or go to my native place coz while applying for CC, in form i had filled my native address.

I read that if a debt is charged off, the debt is erased, but I'm not sure. I also read that if I paid one of these past due bills, it will be held against me with my credit score. What do I do?

I was on the web researching on my fathers' family background (he passed away when I was very young) and I came across myself as one of his relatives. There was my name listed and directly below said "associated name" and the name of someone else from a different state. I tired to put it all together and it looks like someone used my SSN with his own name and address. I don't know this person and I've never lived anywhere else. I checked my credit report and the only thing odd was that in the year 2000, there was an account opened but closed that same day... It doesn't seem like this person has tired to use my SSN for the past 6-some years... should I still report this ?

I'm planning on getting a house soon and I thought I'd give my FICO score a boost by paying the $5500 I owed last month, but when I checked my score this month (nothing else changed) my score was down 90 points, did I do more damage than good? seems very strange to me (I get my FICO score every month, and like I said, I haven't applied for anything, or done anything to my credit in the last year, I did have revolving balances and was using normal credit, but this is very unexpected!!!

I requested a debt validation to a collection agency that is trying to collect on a debt that was paid in 2001. I am unable to find proof of this because of how long ago it was. The validation was minimal and almost none of the information I requested was in what I received. What are they required by law to provide you with when a validation is requested.
