Ok so heres the deal. I lived at an apartment and got evicted (asked to leave) for violating a 3 strike rule. I paid all my rent on time beforehand I left within the date and didn't try to fight it or anything. I have since (1 year later) ran my credit report and saw no collections or evictions. If I try and get an apartment again, what are the chances that the eviction will show up for the apartment credit check? Since I didn't get evicted judicially, I was under the impressions I would be ok.

Thanks for the help!

I am 22 years old and I have limited credit history beyond a single revolving credit card account ($4k limit). I just graduated University and accepted a job that required 6 months overseas. When I returned to the United States, there was an outstanding medical bill in my mailbox (from my visit to the dr for immunizations before i left) - that my company would have reimbursed - DOH! Although I realized it may have been sent to collections already, I paid the balance (~$100) immediately. The collections account on my credit report now indicates that it has been paid but due to my limited credit history, I have been getting turned down for certain benefits such as overdraft protection because of it (and how recently it occured). How can I have this collection account removed from my record?

I would be grateful for any advice. I just moved across the country and the cumulative impact of this is significant. Thanks!

I was offered a 2.99 fixed intro rate until 11/07 on transfer balances. I transferred two credit cards and when my statement arrived, B of A charged 16.24 rate. I phoned c.s. who couldn't help/wouldn't help and directed me to another dept. w/same results. I called again and was told that the person who helped me would have to call me back; this was in late Feb. to see if they remembered the transaction & if not, I would be stuck w/16.24 rate or they would offer me 13.? Neither which was acceptable. They claim they checked the computers and they weren't offering any intro rates at that time, but they DID and I have no way of proving that without they c.s. rep. remembering the transaction.

Can they look up information and call friends and family for information about a client? My mortgage company recently called a family member and asked them to go and put a note under our door to give them a call. We had not given them this person's phone number or information. I have had, in the past, other creditors threaten to do this. How much information can they divulge to the friend or family member?

One judgment was filed in 2000. That same judgment was filed a year later in the public record in the form of an "abstract of judgment" This later abstract was filed in September of 2001, but the original judgment was filed in May of 2000. The May date is over the seven year statute of limitations but the abstract isn't. When do I count the seven years? From that later abstact or the earlier judgment?
Please help if you can thanks

Someone that I know used my name on a credit card without my permission. I know this person, and don't want to press charges. My brother however called an investigater because he is really mad about it. If they find out that she really did do that, and I don't want to press charges, will the person still get in trouble?

I am a full adult, just have never been very credit savy.
I have been the last couple of years building up my score due to paid off loans etc.
I would like to get a credit card so I can go shopping and pay it off a little at a time. Or to use on larger purchases that I dont have the imidiate funds for.
I think of a credit card as like a loan that I get to pay off.
Is that the wrong way of seeing it.
If you are supposed to pay off the balance every month I just dont see the point in having one at all. Just to build credit.
They charge fees for these cards and interest, I dont want to fork out the money for those, just for the sole purpose of building a higher credit score.
Im sorry I am so ignorant about this, If someone can lend advise, would be appriciated.
