I recieved another credit card offer from Capital One, I usally tear them up and throw them away. But this time I thought it would be a good idea to try it out because I want to get my credit started. So I went to the website and put in the reservation code and access code, then they said I was approved and my package would arrive in 9-10 business days. Now I've been reading around and alot of people say that they are not good. Now I want to cancel what I just did. Am I now locked into this card? Can and should I cancel as soon as it gets here? I do not have any other credit cards so I don't know if this will hurt my credit. Please Help!!

Can multiple collection agencies report the same debt for collections? I pulled my credit report from all 3 agencies this morning & have been going over them with a fine-tooth comb today. In the course of this I have discovered that several different collection agencies have reported the same debt on all 3 reports.

Is this legal? As it stands, it now appears that I have more debt than is actually owed. How do I go about getting the duplicates removed from the report? Do I dispute them with the Credit Reporting Agency or attempt to contact the collection company that placed them there in the first place?

Any help is deeply appreciated ...

Thanks!

Ok well im trying to find out the best way to raise my score. these are my accounts open:
My Debt:

Discover: $4300/$9500
Capital One: $260.56/$400
Chase/CC: $1297.99/$1500
Chase 2: $140.14/$200
Aspire: $158.48/$1000
Car care: $663.42/$800
Best Buy: $434.34/$1700
ABC: $600/$1500
Dell: $1467/$1500
AM EX: $0/$2000

The discover card im unsure if its helping me or not. Its in my moms name and its the earliest ive started credit. But it does say I owe alot. Do you think its helping or hurting me? Also all the low cards like capitalone and lower I was planning off just paying those 3 off in whole? Is it good to pay off in whole or smaller amounts? Or The AMEX has 0% interested for 15 months should I just switch as many as I can onto that card and make payments on that?

Right now my credit score is about 610 due to a couple derogatory items which are about two years old. I plan to dispute the items but may consider simply paying them if the improvement would be enough. What would my credit score be if I were to pay them off?

I need 11,000 to pay off debts. One bank wants 13% on 6,000 for 5 yrs..Thats all they would lend me..Another bank wants 22% for 7 yrs, but they will lend me all of the money and I would have 1 payment which is what I really want to do.Which is best? Borrow the 6000 at one bank and the rest at the other bank or borrow the whole thing and have 1 payment? Or go into debt consoladation? I would really like some good advice. In June of last year I was offered a settlement of $1500 from a Repo balance of about $7000. I end up paying $2800,'cause it was hard to come up with money in the short time they gave me. After paying the extra $1300 for a extension in time which was originally in April. I thought it was taking care of until August when a bill collector inform me that I still owed the balace of about $4200. The person who I had made the settlement with was nowhere to be found when I needed him to speak on my behalf. No one knew his whereabouts, when I called his office. They said he no longer worked there. The collection agency demanded that I pay them. I faxed paperwork to them showing drafts from my checking account to the company, but they said it was not enough info.and that I needed the form stating I was offfered a settlement. They will not leave me alone.

I live in Oregon. I have two ambullance bills that I can't pay off because I'm on ssi and it was from before my medical started so my Oregon health plan refuses to pay for them. Even though one of them was just one hour before my medical started.
What's even sader, is it depresses me because these were suicide attempts and I already have to face the fact that I have a mental illness and low self esteam everyday. I don't need an ambulance bill from a suicide attempt to remind me of that. Are there any ambulance billing assistance programs out there? I've tried talking to the ambulance place and they won't reason with me. They did start a charity to help pay bills but they said that because mine was before the date their charity started, they can't help me. I just want to make sure I have this paid off because it is difficult renting an apartment with debt. Alot of managers don't like that.

afraid I might get decline because of my delinquencies in the past. I was immature back then and let some bills gone unpaid and late. Will that affect my ability to get a good loan now because of that even if I have a good score? Thanks!

Hi, I checked my FICO credit score and it says its 758. The FICO score chart is 300 the lowest and 850 the highest. What does my 758 score mean? How good is it? In November of 2006 my score was 790 so why did it go down to 758? What could I have done wrong? I was never late on a payment or anything like that. Thank you for your time and any help.

Is you haven't heard the term, lets say your a little late on your electric bill this month. You would think it be between you and them but some banks have made it their business if they find out. raising interest rates to as much as 29.99% and before you know it your over your credit limit so they charge another $29 credit limit charge and when the payments are too much they charge a $29 late fee. So you're getting screwed three ways.
List the banks you know that are using this predatory business practice. One I can mention is Chase bank.
I rather do business with "Vinny the loan shark".

It seam that the Check 21 system works only one way, and that is when it only benifits the business! They sure can make our checks clear when they want , but others like my credit card company says it takes 7-10 days for my check to clear,, I think this is garbage,, they want to create room for fault,, don't you think everone should have to play by the same rules?

My brother, wen he was 18, agreed to be a guarantor for his 17 year old friend's mobile phone account, not knowing (and not having it explained to him properly). As expected, the account has defaulted (the friend only paid 2 out of 12 months) and the company are now chasing my brother. The friend is soon to turn 18. Will he then become liable for his debts on this account before he is an adult? or does my brother continue to be liable for them as he was under 18 when they were incurred? Is there any law or rules surrounding guarantors - i.e. explaining the implications?
