Opting out has nothing to do with your credit score.

All it does is keep the credit reporting agencies from "selling" your information to 3rd parties, such as credit card companies, loan companies, etc.

Its not true that ANYTHING is guaranteed to increase your score in a couple of days. Because 'soft' inquiries, such as those that result in 'pre-screened' offers are not supposed to count in your credit score, the only affect it should have at all is that you won't APPLY for any of the offers you don't get.
