I told her that she can, but she's freaking out over having a repo on her credit. She called the bank and was told that the car has yet to be sold. It's been about 1 month since the car was taken I think and she owes about $3,000 past due. How much will it cost up-front to get the car back???
I told her that I would try to get an answer and call her again tonight, so she can get some sleep! lol
Any info would help.
Thanks

I lost my real W2 job in Nov 04. Lived on savings until March 06 where I ended up working part time but under a DBA. I have now lost that job, and am on food stamps. No medicaid because its froze, but am very ill. Used credit cards for dr bills, but now have NO money. MI economy sucks and very hard to find job. Thats the reason for gap in 04 to 06. Will the credit card companies work with me on this? What are some options? That is besides filing bankruptcy.

I searched for bad credit credit cards and it came up with a list of prepaid cards, but I called one of them and they said theirs didn't build credit......I could apply for one of the rediculously high interest, low credit line cards, but they all have these "no up front cost" claims, and then the fine print says "one time fee of $195" or something to that effect. Bottom line, I'm poor and don't want to pay $195 for a one time fee and get a $55 credit line.....Pre paid card sounds good and all, but I want one that builds credit.....

I am trying despertly to fix my credit. My score went from 471 to 525 in about 2 months from me paying things off and disputing incorrect items. I thought I was on a staight path. I also pay extra for alerts to notify me if anything changes on my report. I recieved an alert on the 31st of last month and my score went down 31 points. There was nothing new added to my report. The last changes was on the 15th of March where it was updated that I paid an old balance of 175 off and updated as 0. The trade line was updated from derogatory to paid. Mind you this was 15 days prior to my score falling 31 points. I disputed an item and it was updated to basically saying the samething that it said previously. This was also done on the 31st of march. How could this drop my score 31 points in one day? I don't believe that this is correct.

You have invited your family over forThanksgiving dinner, and you want the house to look perfect . Flossie's Flowers has a special on holiday arrangements, and you can get a beautiful arrangement that would make your table look exactly the way you want for $50.00. The balance on your checking account is $42.50. You have $100.00 available on credit in your credit card.

Write a paragraph supporting why you should have this arrangement. Then write another paragraph that explains whether or not you chose to buy the arrangement.

I am 36 years old; I had passed many years over seas (Europe). I arrived in august, got a job and opened for the fist time an account in a American Bank, I never had credit card or any credit history in the U.S. I needed a cell phone and Verizon did not wanted to give me what I wanted because I did not exist in the credit reports.
I finally got my first credit card from my bank, which I don’t really need, but I do need to build credit and being able to buy a house getting a credit , plus some money I am saving.
I understand no having a good credit score may raise a lot the interest of the loan.
I need Help, How can I speed or improve this credit that I’m trying to build?
In Christ …. Sal

On my recent statement the beginning balance is $600 and I made a payment on 3/10 of $200. I charged purchases of $80 on 3/5, $100 on 3/15 and $50 on 3/30. The interest I paid in March was 16%. On the backe of my statement says that interest was charged using the average daily balance method including current purchases.
What would my interest for March be using the average daily balance method?
Someone please help, I don't quite understand what my daily average balance is!!

I just pulled my credit report, and noticed that there was a collection account from a company called "Afni". I called them up and they said it was from a cable company (Charter Communications) and it was delinquent as of 2000 and the account was opened in 1998.

The problem with all of this is - I NEVER opened an account with Charter Communications and I didn't live at the address the collection company says it was opened at, during that time period (I did however live at that address at one time).

When I asked what my options for recourse were, I was told that I could file a fraud claim and would need to provide the following:

1. Proof of residence at that time (tax records, lease papers, etc...)
2. Valid picture ID
3. Copy of Social Security card
4. Police Report

My question is: Are there any other options to get this off of my credit report? The balance is only $240, which is an incredibly small amount for me to have to do all this work. What can/should I do?

The credit reporting agency is listing this judgement as unpaid since 2001. That was when an "abstract of judgement" was entered in the public record.
I'm going to dispute this item stating the fact that it has been paid. I have proof of this.
But the judgement was entered in March of 2000. The abstract was entered in 2001, and it was paid in 2003.
What will the credit agency show?
1. The 2000 original lien is a little more than seven years old. Will drop off?
2. Will the seven years start from 2001 (the abstract)?
3. Will the report show paid in 2003 then remain as a paid judgement seven years from 2003?
Whew!
please help. Thanks

I just received a call from someone asking me for an expiration date on my credit card and he was willing to wait as long as it took for me to get this info from my credit card and it didn't matter which card it was. I just left the phone off the hook and then eventually he hung up but then called right back. When I refused to give him the info he said i would regret it!!!
This company is supposedly located in Scottsdale AZ.

I have been looking at different questions and answers concerning credit and how something negative will be erased from your report after seven years. Some people are saying it's 7 years after the start of the account, some are saying 7 years after the last payment. What is the truth and where can I find it for myself? I am trying to get my credit established and I want to know all that I should now.

I'm thinking of buying a house and getting a mortgage, so my idea is to go to speak to a few banks and see what they're offering. However, I have been told by a friend who has been through this that each time I get a credit check it gets recorded and if I have more than one in three months the amount I will get offered will reduce because they will assume my other credit checks were for loans, etc. Is this true?

Thanks in advance for your help.

My credit score is currently good (about 735), and I don't want to ruin it. However, since I've been 18, I've only had one credit card, and I'm 22 now, and I need another. I just got approved for an American Express blue credit card, and I want to go ahead and get it, but I'm worried that it will hurt my credit score. Do you think this will happen? And if so, by how much? Thanks in advance!
