Dish Network sent bill to GC Services collections. Now the bill is with Anderson Collections. They both appear on my credit report as a collections debt. Can I have 1st company remove debt since it was sold to someone else? Please help. This shows as two negative reportings on my credit

No it is not legal to have 2 collection agencies reporting the same debt.

The only ones that can legally report is the original creditor and the ONE collection agency that actually has the debt.

Also, if a collection agency is reporting the same debt as the original creditor - the original creditor MUST show a zero balance.

Send debt validation letters to both collection agencies. Send them certified mail return receipt.
When you get the green cards back, file a dispute with the CRA's for both collection agencies

It is legal, but can be disputed. Whichever company has the rights to collect on the loan should be the only one on the report.

I stay on top of my credit report yearly. It take some time but I improved my score steadily as things dropped off from disputing them or from age.
Your report will vary depending on which agency you get it from. Get a 3 in 1 report so you can make disputes at all the agencys at once. I got a free one here: http://www.B35T.info/free/3-in-1-credit-report.php

Are you sure they didn't send two separate bill collections to the company?

If you are sure, then you should call the one who now owns it and find out what to do. Although calling them will probably result in them harrassing you for money, unfortunately.

Both are legal. However, I failed to understand why two collectors' name would affect your credit score. The issue is you owed monies to Dish Network and the two collectors are just debt collectors.
