Cashed and returned to you.

When you write a check, they deposit it in their bank after endorsing the back. Then their bank sends it to your bank and requests the funds. After paying, your bank then stamps it paid (cancelled), and returns it to you. Some banks eliminate the last step to save on mailings.

A check that has been dishonored is called "returned"

A Check that has been destroyed is called "voided"

A check that has never been recieved is called "my tenants rent check".

Its been endorsed.

Sent back to you? Not in ever case. My bank does not send the checks back to me unless I ask for them.

Another thing is the check # may have been canceled because it was an electronic check.

Depends on what you done, where you bank.
