I'm in the process of rebuilding my credit score and in the meantime I need a credit card for simple things like car and hotel rental where a debit card will not suffice. If I get approved for the secured card, will the rental company recognize the secured card as a credit card or a debit card?

Hello.

I have recently got a FlexAccount Cashcard from Nationwide bank. There are numbers on it etc. I need to find my account number to give it to an organization because they have to pay me £200/month (it is an allowance). Unfortunately the Cash Card is all I have. There are letters sent to me as well, but none of them have my account number on them.

Is it possible to find the Account Number from the Cash Card itself?

I've recently had an embarrassing experience at a car dealership due to my bad credit. I'm working to fix it, but apparently not hard enough. Worse, however, was the way the people at the dealership made me feel, like I was some kind of criminal for having less than perfect credit. How has having bad credit embarrassed you? Just curious to see if anyone else has had similar experiences. I left that dealership feeling lower than amoeba slime.

I purposely overdraft my BoA bank account for $40,000. I did it so I can use the money to pay off all my credit cards debts. All I have left now is this big chunk of debt I owe to BoA. What will the bank do to me? I know I might go to jail for this, but If I were able of make a schedule payment plan of $500-1000 a month to them, I might get out of trouble?

This is a card that I've been wanting to have. At first, I was hesitant about applying for this card, thinking that you would need around an 800 FICO score, but one night, my friend convinced me that I would most likely be approved, and yes, I DID ! It's a great card to have if you travel a lot, make big purchases, or just like having it to impress and make a statement during a 'business' lunch. I'm 19 years old, and not too many people around my age have it. Hoping to keep it in good standing, and be upgraded/invited to a PLATINUM!

Can a person with a credit score of 625, low debt/income ratio and good salary get a no stated income mortgage at a decent rate with 100% financing? Can prove income with bank statements, check stubs and W2, just cant produce tax returns. If this is possible, what kind of interest rate is likely.

A while back I posted some questions regarding an issue about Chase lowering my limit due to me "not spending enough" during in specified amount of time. Anyway, I told them over and over that I would not give them permission to pull my credit (3 times to be exact) and that I'd just find another card and transfer the balance.

Last Wednesday, I noticed that they made the decision to increase the limit back to where it was. Today, I noticed that I had a credit alert stating that I had a new employer, "EMPLOYER" - that was all the info, no address or anything. Could Chase have done this to gain access to my credit report (w/o knowledge or consent)? If so, is that legal?

I haven't applied for credit in over a month and there was no inquiries added to the alerts.

I graduated and began a new job. I went to India for 6 months. While i was away, I recieved a hospital bill. When I returned, I discovered it had been sent to collections. I called the hospital and paid the bill. I moved across the country (east to west coast). I called the collection agency verify that it had been marked as paid. I now have one collection account on my credit report marked as paid. I have been turned down for certain benefits because of this recent collection account being on my credit report. I tried filing a dispute online w/ equifax (the CRA reporting the collection account). Because of my recent changes in address, the online/phone methods fail to verify me, so i cannot order my credit report. Now I am supposed to mail in several pieces of POA to validate my new address. Before i do this, is it possible for the creditor or the collection agency to remove the account from my record? If so, i'd like to try it b/c at least i can talk to someone.

I have a friend that is constantly being bothered by a collection agency.
They call after hours, use abusive language and will not give the true name or location of their company.
I have looked through the FDCPA and am not sure if she can sue directly or just make a complaint to a federal agency.
It's really frustrating for her since she doesn't have concrete evidence and has a weak case right now.
Anything she can do (legally) to get even with these *******?

I spoke to a collection agent today about an old debt that I am trying to pay off. They offered a settlement for about 20% less than the total. They informed me that if I took the settlement it would look bad on my credit report. Any truth to this or is this slimeball agent just trying to get as much money out of me as possible?
I was under the impression that even if I pay the settlement offer from the collection agency that it will still show as being paid on my credit report and the account being closed.

I'm currently 18, so Im new to credit and would like to build credit. I have a decent part time job and am currently a student and will be a student in college in the fall. I have applied for student credit cards. Around 5 or 6 to be exact. What Im curious to knowing is that if I pay off whatever I use my credit cards for to purchase, BEFORE the grace period ends, will my credit increase more quickly? I do not intend to keep large balances on any of them, (I would like to keep only 3).

I had a credit card with a $1500 limit. I had some 30/60 day late payments on it and it's negatively affecting my credit score. I paid it off last week ($0 balance), but the 60 days lates will still show on my credit report, right? Is it better to close the account? Or will the late payments still show up ? I know the account will stay on the report for at least 7 yrs, but what about the late payments ?

TIA!

I'm looking for a credit card that I can transfer all my balances onto, about $7000 but to my knowledge most credit cards won't give you a $7000 credit limit starting off, especially with a low interest rate. Any suggestions?
