In Canada, can a collection agency threaten to freeze your bank account on a debt 14 years old (i know it is ridiculous, since the seven years is up). What if I am considering declaring bankruptcy, should I tell them. I havent spoken to them yet because I dont know what to say and cannot afford to pay anytime soon.

we just financed a new car last week, and were told it had 70 thousand miles on clock, when we actually got the car, and it had been moted etc, it shows it's actually done 91.5 thousand miles. the finance says 70k on it, is it valid, or can we get it changed? it shows that we can't have done 20k in it, we only got the car on saturday.

I have found myself in a very bad situation and need a $500 to $1000 loan fast. Preferably I would want to pay it back in 2 to 5 years because I am a student and won't have the cash right away. Also I have really bad credit. Which is why I want the loan actually, to pay off my credit card bills. Is there any company that will give me a loan, without a cosigner, despite my bad credit.

ok so I am in debt trouble. I owe about 12,000 dollars. The balances is divided into 6 credit cards. Fortunately, I am receiving a 5,000 dollars payment that I am thinking of using to payoff some of these balances. Is it better to completely payoff 2 or 3 of my credit cards so I can concentrate on the others, or should I put an equal amount of money to pay some of each account. Please note that the interest rates are almost identical. Also, would it be better to maybe use some of this money in some kind of investment??

I am looking for a credit card that has a 0% APR on balance transfers for the life of the transfer, preferably with not balance transfer fee. I have searched MANY sites and only found 0% for the first 6, 12 or 15 months then the regular APR (usually like 15% or so) from that point on. Can anybody recommend a card that will do this?

I have 3 accounts with Chase, each has a limit of $5000, 0 balances on all 3. They offered to combine the entire line onto 1 card and then I can get rid of the other two. I would then have one card with a $15 K limit....how do the credit scoring companies look at this? Should I do it or not?

Is it true that everytime your credit report is looked up, it actually negatively affects your credit score? And what about these credit report programs- if one is enrolled in one, how does that affect credit? Thanks for any info in advance.
