I recently noticed on my bank statement that my hairdresser charged 20% more than my bill. When I called I was told by the receptionist that some credit card companies do that to make sure that there is enough funds in the account to cover the charge, and once the funds are transferred the additional 30% would be released. When I called my bank, they told me that they don't do that, the business where I used my card did it. Who's lying? I want to know if I need to find a new hairdresser or a new bank. I have the 20% back, but no one should have the right to put a hold on my money without notifying me. Thanks!

I checked my credit score about a month ago on freecreditreport.com and my score was 665.
This month I apply for a loan to purchase a home and because I had 2 credit cards almost max out my credit dropped to 590 (that is the score that the loan officer told me I got).
I already fixed this problem ... I paid almost half of the balances on both credit cards.
I would like to pruchase a home as soon as possible. How long should I wait to see my credit score go up???
Do I need to do something else.
Your advise is greatly appreciated.

I have a 15 day grace period on my mortgage payment. If I send the payment in during this period instead of on the exact due date, will I be reported negatively?

I Just Got A Credit Card With a $300 limit. I am 18. I also applied for another one (with my bank) earlier. Should I keep them both? I have heard that a lot of people use two credit cards. Also if I don't use the card am I charged anything for having it?

Thanks!

I have been working 3 years to repair a 9-year history of credit problems. My score is now 691 after 3 years of working on it. Does this qualify me for prime rates? How about a lower down payment for a home?

Which one is the wiser choice? If you could be ahead of the game as far as payments and you needed the security of paying ahead of time.

This is just an example i guess? If I was to buy something that cost $150...should I pay that $150 all at once, or should I make monthly payments....I've heard different things...I've heard that I should make monthly payments to show them that I actually can pay payments? and I've heard that I should pay the $150 all at once? If any one can help thanks
