I have been seeing adds on TV about different Clear Credit agencies that can help clear bad credit. Does this really work? Do they help with student loans too? Has anyone had any experiences with the clear credit agencies?

Is anyone else having problems with this crowd ?
I paid my loan off in 02 then got a bill for £120, I asked "what's this ?" and was told "Charges for late payments !".
I paid by direct debit on the same day every month !
At the moment it's up to £187 and I'm complaining long and loud.
Anyone else in the same boat here?
There must be a member of parliament in charge of all this ?
Anything at all will help

Can i reset the 30 days, telling them i can't make the full payment within this time frame, but rather settle next month instead ? can i call them and do this ?
it was a sears card $1000 max. I guess interest grew to $1900, with 6 months no payment with Sears, and then 31/2 years collections. It grew to $1900 total after roughly 4 years.

What should the settlement be ratio? Does $1200 sound alright ?
or they can settle for less ? i have only $800 ?

Three credit bureaus issue you credit scores but with identity theft running rampant dealing with them might be more harmful than helpful because you end up giving them more information that may not be secure or that they might report to someone else. Freezing hasn't worked. Requiring notarized written permission before releasing information hasn't worked so we need to know how to protect our members from these unscrupulous predators.

I have a new 19 year old coworker, this is her first major job and she has no credit history at all. What is the best (and cheapest) way to start establishing credit? (I am a foreigner, so got all mine started back home.) And no, a second card on a parent's account is not an option. Any ideas??Thanks.

When I married my husband I new he had filed for Bancrupcy few years before (on his first marriage). To me Brancrupcy is something terrible but I married him because I love him for what he really is and means to me.
I would like to know our possibilities to buy a new house in the future (even if the future is 10 years from now).
My credit is not perfect either but I have never bought a house in my whole life (he did before).
Can anyone provide serious answers/suggestions regarding our situation? Recommendations and suggestions are more than welcome.
Thank you in advance!

My mom and my step dad have declared bankruptcy one or two times in the last 10 years. My older brother now lives with them because his health hasn't been so great for some time. Needless to say their credit isn't so good after filing for bankruptcys. Now I hear the bank has gone to foreclose their home and they say to us, their adult children that they have their lawyer working on it but don't tell us much else. My parents havent made such great choices about their money in the past so we are pretty skeptical. Not only that a majior reason why they are in this finacial hell is because my step dad fell for an internet e-mail scam. I and my brother am trying to help them as much as we can with our own practical smarts but they haven't told us any details so far. From what we gather my parents could be housless come Febuary. What can be done to help them legally and, or what would you do about all this?

Is having 2 mastercards and 2 american express cards too many? Is this a good number of cards to have?

Also, I do not like citicard! Does it hurt my credit rating if I cancel my citi account? Or, should I keep it open? Does it hurt if I NEVER use it?

Thanks in advance!
