I filed about 5 years ago, but have run into medical bills and credit card debt that I can't handle now. I also lost my job about a month ago.

7 years is a common MISconcenption.

You can file every year if the judge allows it. You will have to make your case to the Judge, in the case of medicla bills ( not credit cards ) they usually allow that to happen.

I promise you, you can file a chpt 7 every month of your life...the Judge has to approve it.
