go to Bank of America, deposit $100 to open a student checking account. Then you'll get a debit card with Visa logo. You can use it where credit card or ATM sales are accepted.

You do have to have an income, whether it is from a job or allowance. You go to the bank and open a checking account, and ask for a debit card. When you find something you want to purchase, you can either write a check or use your debit card. You can only purchase items that are less than the amount of money in your account. If you use a debit card, the amount of the purchase is automatically deducted from your checking account. If you don't have a regular amount of money coming in, you may want to save your money and get a gift card. It works the same way, only you don't have to have a checking account and you don't have to keep deposited money into the account. Once your purchases add up to the total amount on your card, your card is empty, and you cut it up, and then throw it away.

You need a checking account to get a debit card. Usually you cannot get a checking account without a job or some other source of income (i.e. unemployment, disability, etc) and since you are under 18. I am sure that you are not recieving any other source of income other than maybe an allowance- which is not really considered income.

Yes, you do have to have an income of some sort, whether it's a pt job or whatever. You have to have money in the bank in order to withdraw or use it first.

You scan it like a credit card, but it takes the money straight out of your checking account. Since a checking account is a contract, you have to be 18 to have one.
