The United Kingdom of Great Britain and northern Ireland to give us our full title consists of Scotland, England and Wales which are all the island of Great Britain and northern Ireland which is the northern part of Ireland (obviously) . Scotland and England and I believe Northern Ireland all print their own money but they are tied together and are all sterling worth the exact same. Scotland has its own laws Parliament and education system. UK has a combined defence with the London Parliament making decisions that effect the whole.

Scotland has its own government, sets its own laws and prints its own money (the scotish pound is interchangable with the pound sterling but the Scots do print their own).

The Westminster parliment handles defense and taxation (I think taxation but I might be wrong on that).

So Scotland is not 100% independent of England but it does have a lot of Autonomy.

Unfortunately not! We have our own parliament but most major decisions are still made south of the border.
