I'm trying to figure out the best way to get out of debt. $3500-$4000. I got into debt before I knew what credit was. My income per month isn't high and I'm trying to find an apartment as well. I don't know what will hurt me more or which will help me. (consolidating my debt, a bad credit credit card or a loan, etc.) Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a Capital One credit card I haven't used in about a year. I keep it for emergency purchases. The balance is $0. Does this effect my credit score since I'm not using the credit that I applied for?

My husband is swearing that he remembers the bankruptcy lawyer saying that getting a new pet before bankruptcy is something they don't recommend doing. He is filing but I am not (we've only been married 6 months and my credit is clean) Can anyone who's gone through bankruptcy please tell me if they've heard of this or is my husband just looking for an excuse to not get a pet? lol

I know I'm entitled to a free credit report at annualcreditreport.com, but for some reason it will not let me access it. It says there is either a freeze on my credit (I haven't put one on), a fraud alert (haven't done that either), or the information on file doesn't match the information I gave. If that's true, I'd like to get it fixed but I can't since they won't let me see it. I have also tried calling and it's gotten me nowhere, just like the online form. Is there anything left that I can do???

My hubby and I are in the middle of a bankruptcy (chap. 7). It will be discharged sometime next month. I heard you can dispute bankruptcies, but how do you do it?? How would write a letter to them, who should I write it to, the creditors or the credit companies like Transunion or Equifax? PLZ help!

I have a friend who provides her license as well as credit card for a charge or debit transaction as she has signed "ask for ID" on the back of her card rather than her signature. Is this more secure?

I want to order something off the internet but my debit card hasn't come in the mail yet and I have my checks so I was wondering if the numbers on the check (bank routing number and account number) were the same as on the check card.

I have two credit cards, one with no balance that is for dire emergencies and one that has a balance that will take at least a year for me to pay off. If I close out the one with a balance and transfer that balance to a card that offers a very low APR for the life of the balance, will my credit score be hurt??

I ordered some items via the internet sometime ago. My card has not been charged for the transaction. Is there a limit to when the merchant has to charge my card?
I don't want to assume my card won't be charged, spend the money, and then get hit with the charges.
