I know I'm entitled to a free credit report at annualcreditreport.com, but for some reason it will not let me access it. It says there is either a freeze on my credit (I haven't put one on), a fraud alert (haven't done that either), or the information on file doesn't match the information I gave. If that's true, I'd like to get it fixed but I can't since they won't let me see it. I have also tried calling and it's gotten me nowhere, just like the online form. Is there anything left that I can do???

I had the same problem with my account. Most likely, it's because they have outdated/inaccurate information about you and because they're trying to have you verify against this information, they think you're unable to verify your own information.
The best thing to do is to contact each credit bureau individually and verify they have your updated information. You can do it by phone or in writing, but writing is preferable.

You'll need to call during their normal business hours, but this is something you DEFINITELY need to address. Do not put this off for a week becuse it is very possible someone is using your information to open credit accounts (i.e. you may be a victim of either CREDIT CARD FRAUD), or worse, fabricate your identity using your social security number (IDENTITY THEFT). I have had fraudulent use on 2 of my credit cards in the last 3 years and for the most part the credit card companies are very helpful but when you first call you have to be patient with them because they have to establish that you're actually you, not the person committing the fraud trying to gain information. Identity theft is apparently a much bigger problem and I'm glad I haven't had to experience it. Either way, it isn't something you can take lightly. If you can't reach the folks at annualcreditreport.com until Monday, before then you can find your credit card statements, check them for fraudulent charges (things you didn't buy) and contact the credit card company if you find anything strange - most cards' customer service is open 24 hours, 7 days. Good luck but you need to take care of this QUICK!

OK, ignore these people and quit fooling around!
The reason you can't get your report is because the credit bureau is not certain of your ID. The best (and easiest way) to get your report under these circumstances is by mail.
Go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/order?mail and get the form and address.
Enclose a copy of your drivers license, a utility bill with your name and address, and some other form of proof. NOT your Social Security card!
When you send it, pay the 50 cents for a proof of mailing from the post office you prove you sent it. That puts the ball in their court. If they continue to give you a hard time, mention that the Fair Credit Reporting Act demands that they give you a copy, and ask how they plan to resolve their violation of the law?
Mail the form and the info I suggested, you will get your reports.

Call again. This time don't even try to access your report. Tell them you believe you may be a victim of Identity Theft. Ask them for an address to sent a notarized statement requesting a written copy of your report.

you need professional help probably. but, you start here. never mind myfreecreditreport.com. you are not understanding the service. write to each agency separately and ask for your report. short note is all it takes. include copy of driver's license, and utility bill. they will supply you with a free report. then you begin to assess the dings and bumps. if there is fraud alerts there are steps to be taken. if you have any other questions you can email me. highergroundfinsvc@yahoo.com. good luck

In order to access your credit report it's best that contact a reliable credit reporting agency such as Equifax, Experian or Transunion. Do not use free credit report dot com because they will attempt to sell you a program called credit advantage. You may also want to go to anual credit report dot com to obtain a copy of your credit report.
