I am getting ready to file bankruptcy here in WI (my credit score is only about 400); i was sued by a local private college for classes i took but had to drop out prior to the completion of class; i did not have a FAFSA loan and it is not through Sallie Mae/Fannie Mae -- is this still considered a non-dischargeable student loan?

also, unfortuantely, although i was able to pay my Orchard Bank account on time, it looks like that will be included in my bankruptcy as well.

I have two of those darn payday loans too - i'm filing on Monday and I want to make sure they don't take a payment on Friday out of my bank account so i e-mailed them and i also e-mailed my bank asking them to stop the transaction(s) and have yet to hear back from either company -- any advice to make sure they don't take that huge payment?

This is in regards to a credit card. I told them I will pay it off in full when I get my income tax return because I lost my job when I was on maternity leave (differnet subject and now grounds for a lawsuit... so don't worry.)
First person to call me asked for me by name. I state it was me she was speaking with. She then asked to verify my address and I told her I was not giving out my address until she told me who she was with and what this was regarding. She said she would not disclose any information until I verified my address and contact information. Then she abruptly hung up in my face. I received another call that night from my husbands office phone which he used to call them and ask who that are with and what this is regarding. They proceeded to call back on my husbands cell phone and home office phone... so this makes three phone calls for this debt the same day with verbal contact all times. They were told by my husband to stop calling his cell and his work phone.

I'm rebuilding my credit, I recently took a car loan with a very high interest rate..at the same time I'm starting to power save 2500 per month so I can purchase a home in a year. Myquestion is should I put 2000 more towards my car to have it paid in 9 months or keep paying the minimum so I can sock everything into savings?

Hi I have a debt with Natwest Credit Cards of just under £700 & the debt was tranferred to their collection agents - Triton Credit Services. I have been making regular payments of what I can afford each month & I have been late paying Novembers but today offered the Nov & Dec payments to bring my account up to date but triton advised that the account has been transferred to their lawyers. Will this mean a CCj will automatically be entered against me & does anyone know who Natwest's lawyers are?? I am quite concerned about it. Anyone else been in the same situation & what did u do? Thanks

As a young adult, before I knew the importance of credit, I max out three credit cards in the amount of 3000. I also have additional debt that brings me to a total of approx. 6000. My credit score obviously is low, and I am focused on bringing my score up and eliminating past debts. Please help!

Im thinking of applying for a bank teller posotion. Is it true that they check your credit and give you all kinds of psychological tests and even a lie detector test?
If it's true why do they do all that?
Thanks

Personally, I think it's a risk of someone stole your credit card and forge your signature. What do you think?

How do people get your #? We recently got a phone call from our bank saying they turned our card off for suspicious activity. Someone used the number of the card only at wal-mart (we still have the card in our posession) and Wal-mart actually took it!!! Even though this happened a few hundred miles from where we were at the same time (we used it the same day) the bank is giving us a hard time about it. How the heck did they get the number if it never left our sight? Kinda scary, so warning to everyone who thinks it can't happen to them cause they are safe!!!
