So, I have asked a couple people to co-sign for my student loan and in turn I will give them $1,000.00, but no one wants to. I really need some help here. What should I do?

Wait until you can pay for your education. Co-signing is a big responsibility that many people are not willing to take on.

I don't understand why you need a co-signer for student loans. There are Federal grants and loans guarranteed by the government at competitive rates which you should be able to qualify for without a co-signer. If you can afford to pay someone $1,000 to co-sign a note, I am surprised that you would need a loan. If you don't want to go that route, you could always take one or two classes at a time and work your way through school. Doing it that way, you would not have any debt once you get your degree. Loans need to be paid back, at some point.

For FAFSA you are considered a dependent of your parent/guardians if you are under 24. It does not matter if you do not live with them, talk to them, or want anything to do with them. You will not be able to receive a student loan until you filled a FAFSA, and the FAFSA requires you to provide your parent’s information (especially tax information for that academic year).

The only alternatives your have is convincing your parents/guardian to provide their information. If you do find a co-signer (i.e. Uncle, Aunt, family friend), you may be able to use their information. The only other alternative I can suggest is getting a job to pay for college.

Why do you need a co-signer? Are you not able to apply for Federal loans? You need to go to to your college's financial aid department. They will be able to assist you with different options if you cannot find a co-signer. Also, do not be upset that you cannot find a co-signer. It is very risky to ask somebody to co-sign a loan when you are unsure if they will pay it back or be able to when it comes time.

What i did was apply for financial aid. If your denied financial aid, they have something called a "stafford loan" ask you school financial aid department. I have pretty bad credit and I got one. Its not credit based. Good luck!!

you can use private student loans from somewhere like Chase and you dont need a cosigner, your interest rates will be higher though, because you dont have one
