My employer has said that they do not have work I can do in the office that does not involve typing or using a mouse. If this goes as far as me not being able to carry out my job and them denying me any other role, what can I do? They can't make me leave can they? After all, my injury was caused by working for them! Do they legally have to give me compensation? What action can I take to avoid getting taken advantage of?

Does the typical path start with volunteering? Networking? Or do you just wait for someone to recruit you?

Is it normal to post volunteer work on a resume? Right now I'm out of a job, and I thought about volunteering for the Salvation Army.... Would it be wise to post that on a resume?

i honestly do not have anything to hide from my employer - infact im dangerously honest with everyone.
but it was a discussion that i was having with a member of staff. he said that they can put in CCTV without telling anyone. but i always thought that legally they had to tell you that you were being recorded - but didnt need to tell you where they were. can any one help with the correct answer?

I would like to be a hotel manager, but reading these things kinda make me second guess.
I want a job I can just specialize in and not go to college for ever. I want a job that doesn't keep me in an office and not bore me to death. Perferably a job that involves some travel.
Any ideas would be great.

I've been doing construction work for nearly ten years so I'm no stranger to hard work, but I need a change. I think working on n oil rig would be great because of the pay, work to time off ratio, and the scenery changes. I've found one web page that guarantees a job in 90 days, but it has a nearly $200 membership fee. Befor I go spending money like that I thought I would seek advice here. Thanks in advance.

I have no business/finance degree or background; my undergrad degree was a B.A. I graduated with a law degree and want to make the transition into becoming either a corporate trustee or a certified financial planner. Anyone have any serious suggestions on how I can do this?

Hi.
I'm a high school student and I just got an interview at Panera Bread and I don't know what to wear. I know I have to dress nice but is it ok if I wear a nice pair of jeans?

Also if I get the job what can I expect? And does Panera Bread have a uniform?

Thanks.

I will graduate in May with an Associate's degree in Accounting and will begin working on my Bachelor's next fall. I am looking to relocating to Raleigh, NC (an hour from my current location) soon after graduation, but I don't know how to begin the job search. When should I begin sending out resumes and to whom? Besides temporary agencies specializing in accounting, where else can I look to get my foot in the door?

I have been working as a management trainee in retail for the past five months. I am about to lose my job and my manager offered me another position in the company as a pharmacy technician. She says I am not cut out as a manager and I am a follower and not a leader.

I'm going back to school FT next month. I talked to my boss this morning to see what options he might offer. He basically said work FT or nothing. I understood that before I walked in there but figured you never know 100% what someone else will say. He asked that I write something up stating that I'm leaving the company. What do I write? I've never given notice before. It was always a situation of "you're fired" or "Go F yourself" with my past employers. I've worked here 10 years now.

The company has offered me a demotion as a pharmacy technician, which would pay like $10 an hour. I got another month in my management trainee position, so what can I do with it if I look for jobs elsewhere? I want to get out of retail.

Here's my case:
I'm a graduate from reputable univ. in Jogjakarta Indonesia. with high GPA and great skills. and was applying in two different education institutions.
Chances are, they will all offer to hire me.
which should i choose?

Institution_1:
I'll work as part of the Academic Staff; the division's launched next month.

Institution_2:
I'll work as an English Teacher, start working next month.
---

I have been accepted by Institution_1; but pretty sure will be too by Institution_2. Now, should I go for Institution_2 and leave Institution_1; or should I stay and let go of the chance in Institution_2. What do you think?
