I am looking into an accounts payable job and had a few questions. Please only truthful honest answers, What does it mean to "accure your payables". If I needed to code an invoice that was going to be reimbersed by an employee, would I code it to an asset acct, liability acct, revenue acct, or expense acct?
Thank you again for your help.

I am highly detail oriented, and do well on repetitive work. I do my living expenses on notes , never miss even a penny. I am now 46 changing my career from hospital work. Physically could not continue. I was going to go to graphic design, but many people say, it would be hard to get a job and be as creative as young people. Might be hard to get a job in graphic design. However, isn't accounting have a position in all firms, hospital, college, etc? The most important thing that I am considering is getting a stable job, and my ability to do the work. Instead of cheer me up, give an honest and practical advice please. Thank you.

I'm getting ready to write a letter to the Boaed of Nursing Examiners. I was wondering if there is anyone who has written them? I have looked over what they want included in the letter but was wondering how I should write the letter. Should it be a long to the heart letter or should I leave it short and stick to the facts. I've already talked to a few people who have written the BNE and wanted to get a few more opinions from people who have gone through this process. Thank you in advance for your help.

I am finishing a planned year off after having graduated from college. (to spend time with my family and travel)

I graduated from a top tier university with a BA and a 3.63 GPA, which is decent.

But here's what makes my situation a bit unique: I'm 30

I returned to school at the age of 25 as I wasn't able to attend college straight out of HS. I worked in sales out of HS and did well but decided I HAD to return to school.

I knew that given my particular situation that if I wanted to take some time off, this would likely be my only opportunity. As such, I took it and have not worked this year save for running a bit of an eBay business to make ends meet.

I'd really like to get into financial advising and am absolutely willing to work my backside off in order to do so.

Here's my question: how will potential employers see this? Will this be viewed as a negative?

Thanks for any insight into my scenario.

This is my first time working through a staffing agency and I love it. Getting paid weekly instead of bi-weekly is hot. Not having to be fully caught up in office politics is cool. I can have a few months vacation if I want (since the compensation is usually well).

I know this sort of thing comes up all the time, but it doesn't make it any more pleasant to deal with! I will be quitting my job after only a brief month and a half, and going with an offer that I believe is a far better match. I'm wondering what the most graceful way to do this is, especially because just last week I missed 2 days of work because I was sick (I really was sick, but I'm worried it'll look like I was going out on job interviews once I deliver my news about quitting).

I work in a small, close-knit department and never felt fully part of the team. Yet, it will be impossible to avoid whatever tension or cattiness might arise from this. Is it likely my managers will be resentful that I'm leaving as soon as the team has put an effort into training me?

After I get my bachelors in bio I want to get certified as a radiology tech. Is it a waste to continue my biology degree or will it help me in the future? I want to go into neuroradiology if possible, or specialize in ultrasounds.

So I just moved out to the southeast from the west coast and well....I'm miserable. I moved here for a job and am contracted to work for a couple of years. I'm terribly homesick and have no family or friends out here. I'm fairly inexperienced in my line of work, but am fortunate to be where I am considering my lack of experience. I knew that getting in to this. My boss ( the guy who believes in me and hired me, despite it all) and I discussed this when I was offered the job. Yet I am having a hard time dealing with resentment from others who make me feel as I do not belong here. I know I may sound totally cerebral, but I'm a pleaser and can't help but let this get to me. HOW DO I COPE? Sometimes I feel like this was the biggest mistake, while at other times I feel extremely lucky.

I had a casual talk with my boss in September-ish when another store/company was trying to get me to work for them; they offered me a *little* more then I am getting paid now. I told her how much they offered me and she told me:

"Well there's no point in moving over there because in December you'll be getting a raise and it will be more than that".

Well, it's December and I totaled my last check and it's still at the pay I started with 6 months ago. Should I remind her what she told me? Or let her bring it up? Or should I not even mention it at all and see what happens? I'm not sure what to do!

Thanks in advance for your responses.

If you're applying for an "Open Until Filled" position, is there a possibility that they can hire you on the spot after your interview, given your interview went extremely well and they really like you?

Im thinking about going to school to become a RN i already have my CNA i got it a few years ago and honestly i didnt like being a CNA cause i was working at a nursing home was not my thing. (i didnt like how they treated the elderly) I made good grades when i was going to classes for CNA. My question is math has always been a very weak subject for me so will that be a issue when going for RN? Im willing to study hard and put the time into becoming a RN im just kinda uneasy about getting into it if math will be a big part of it. Thanks

My boss told us late Friday evening that he is selling his company and we can either report to work at the company he sold to this Monday (tomorrow morning) or quit. I have no clue what I am going to be doing at this other place etc. He states I am being laid off but have option to work for this other company. I want to see how this would effect me collecting unemployment insurance if any? Located in CA. Thank you.

have 4 yrs as a ward nurse began a new job as delivery room nurse. the nurse manager for that dept is on vacations an all the training is done by staff. Staff nurses give input to the director of nursing on how we are doing. Most of the time the teaching ocurrs when we do things differently or dont fill out forms the way they do. Love the dept but im dissapointed by the way things are done. opinions welcome, thanks!!

one of my co-workers is always giving me grief about every little thing. she says i'm doing stuff wrong and i have to point out and show her constantly that i am doing it right. i am so sick and tired of her that i can't stand her voice anymore. when she calls my name i'm thinking what now. i've told her off before, but i end up getting in trouble, so now i pretty much just ignore her, but she keeps messing with me. i keep imagining swinging her around by her hair.

I am a RN & just started this new job 3 mos ago. I work day/eve now, but want to go to just days. I found out you have to write a letter of request for a shift change. This is the process and they do not go by seniority. I figured I would have to wait for seniority, but this not being the case; I would like to get off evenings now. Any suggestions for letter etique w/o sounding greedy?

I like photography, but unfortunately I'm a very basic beginner. I'm certified in Microsoft Office programs and I'm currently making a good wage as an Excel/Access specialist, but I don't want to do this with the rest of my life and I think something along the lines of digital photography may be something I would like to pursue. (I'm 23)

But I don't like the idea of taking pics of kids, married couples, family portraits, high school graduates, etc... I think I would be more interested in focusing on nature, animals (especially birds), science (especially astronomy related... as long as it doesn't require too much of a science background... I'm not a scientist), etc... (And no, I don't want to go into journalism and take pics of current events / news)

Does anyone know of any non-human subject photography job titles / careers I could consider? Thanks.

I have a diploma of financial services and am currently studying law. I would like to know what the good paying areas of law are in Australia that could use financial qualifications.
Also can anyone tell me what pay I would be looking at getting when I graduate in the legal profession.

Thankyou
