I had a casual talk with my boss in September-ish when another store/company was trying to get me to work for them; they offered me a *little* more then I am getting paid now. I told her how much they offered me and she told me:

"Well there's no point in moving over there because in December you'll be getting a raise and it will be more than that".

Well, it's December and I totaled my last check and it's still at the pay I started with 6 months ago. Should I remind her what she told me? Or let her bring it up? Or should I not even mention it at all and see what happens? I'm not sure what to do!

Thanks in advance for your responses.

You definitely need to discuss this but I would wait until the middle of the month. If you sit back and wait for opportunities to come, you may be spending all your time waiting. If you can have casual talks with your boss, casually ask if you were supposed to have a raise now to see what she says. she may have intended to give you a raise and forgotten it or thought that you would forget it by now. a large corporation can move slow but if it is a decent corporation the raise should have already been in the works so that you receive it when you are supposed to. If the company is large enough that they have a handbook of some sort see if there is a mention in there about raises and when they should be expected. Good luck to you and I hope you do get that raise.

I wouldn't yet. sometimes raises take a little while to go through. I would wait a month or 2 before saying anything or doing anything. sometimes my boss approves my raise and it's a couple months before I see it. that's how it is in a large corporation, things move slowly.

Wait until the first pay in January because most companies pay two weeks behind the actual date, so check your pay period in January and see if it's on there.
