At that point you are a good candidate and you have shown it once. They may not have any good reason not to hire you but someone else has one little thing better.
I once had 3-4 interviews for one job and at the last they said they couldn't decide between me and a man so had to sleep on it. The next day they picked the man they told me I was better qualified but he had more specific experience so they thought he would hit the ground running where I would have better long term. Nothing I did could have gotten me that job unless the other guy turned it down.

This would suggest that on paper you look like a good candidate, but when you reach the interview you are not performing as well as other candidates.
Suggestions:
1) Practise to overcome nerves
2) Prepare answers to common questions in advance
3) Read up on the employer to show your interest
4) Ask a friend or family member who you trust to give you constructive critisism of your interview outfit / appearance / manner
Good Luck
