I'm getting ready to write a letter to the Boaed of Nursing Examiners. I was wondering if there is anyone who has written them? I have looked over what they want included in the letter but was wondering how I should write the letter. Should it be a long to the heart letter or should I leave it short and stick to the facts. I've already talked to a few people who have written the BNE and wanted to get a few more opinions from people who have gone through this process. Thank you in advance for your help.

I am a college student getting ready to apply to nursing school. The reason for writing the BNE is because I have a misdemeanor. Anyone who has a misdemeanor has to apply to the BNE and must undergo an FBI background before they are allowed to receive a license as a LVN, RN. Does this help clarify the question?

Keep any letter to the point and concise. Board members get a large amount of correspondence and often only read the first parts of the letters, especially, if they have the accompanying documents. Just give them the information. If there are mitigating circumstances, you may want to include them, but not too much detail.
